Piano Portraits, a solo piano album by Rick Wakeman, a real virtuoso, he was the session keyboard player on the original recordings of the David Bowie and Cat Stevens numbers included on the disc. There is a story that he agreed a fee of £10 for playing the piano track on Stevens biggest hit, Morning Has Broken, but additionally he had to rearrange the music to accommodate the chord changes Stevens required for his vocals. Wakeman was disappointed when he didn’t get the ten quid or a shore of the writing credit, although it is a traditional tune. When Stevens found out over thirty years later that Wakeman hadn’t been paid he gave him his ten quid, no wring credit though, which with the number of sales and plays would have been mega money.
