The new Glasgow LEZ puts another problem for an "unexpected" hour visit into the city centre, some peeps might get a £60 fine through the door.

I believe most cars are ok for the LEZ, I have checked my car and it’s ok.
Why not check your car on line to see if is ok for the LEZ?

Almost all petrol cars are ok, almost all diesels since 2017 should be ok too, generally (there may be a few exceptions) if your diesel takes adblue it should be compliant. It's mostly to do with older diesels and a few petrol vehicles. So trucks, buses, and taxis that maybe kept running for longer. As someone said, just check your reg on the website. If your car is affected, park outside the lez and take a bus, train or taxi to where you need to be.

Supposedly the anpr camera's can be tricked, into thinking a car has entered to LEZ zone, when in fact it hasnt

Think this was done in Eng in a LEZ zone, so someone got a reg-plate, and place it on his back, and then walking in front of the anpr camera, and in a few weeks he got a ticket.   Ticket was repealed a few weeks later, but this shows you, the system might be fallible

Yes it can be tricked by excess potassium which flares when infra red etc hits it.  Just rub a banana on the plates.

Most cars, Dont think so mate!.
Any diesel older than 8 years is illegal.
Is it maybe the fact, you are ok, and tough cheese for others

Car parks outside of the LEZ zone, can see them increasing there prices for parking, as not every car can enter the LEZ zone

Have you checked it? probably not ok if it's diesel but good chance that a petrol might be. No point taking the train if you'd rather drive unless you have checked. Also only covers a small area of the city centre, so just make sure you park outside the LEZ and walk or get a bus/train into centre if that's where you need to be. :vomit:

Rough cut off dates are 2015 for diesel ( unless it's got adblue) and 2006 for petrol

He's right though. There was a city centre body repair shop that worked out 35% of his customers wouldn't meet the requirements, so most will.

I wouldn't take a car on a punt these days, never mind in a LEZ area, the chances of getting parking tickets, bus lanes, speeding fines, and nosey nieghbours, noting your reg. is getting more and more these days. We have good public transport, especially in and into the cities, and that at least reduces some of the risks.
