The only school mass shooting in the UK I am aware of was in Dunblane 27 years ago, gun regulations have been tightened up greatly. So teaching primary one children to hide from mass shooters seems an over reaction, that would have an adverse reaction on there mental health. I would not call it common sense.

As I mentioned above they are not just for shootings, the time I know the drill was used for real was somebody with a machete.

I think many of the schools do not explain what the drill is to the kids but make it into more of a game.

To be fair to them can you imagine how much shit would come their way if something happened and they had not done the drills.
