I don't understand why people don't get this: everyone can afford the value range; many can afford the premium;, but few can afford the hand-made. The bespoke may not be better than the standard issue (though it often is, even if just in appearance). If nothing else, it means that, very likely, far fewer paws have been all over it. And/or, we just have something that many others want but just can't have. That's much of the appeal: like business class: the seats are often much the same, there are just fewer plebs in close proximity.

Think of your your favourite pin-up. Imagine how much you'd be willing to part with for a night with her. Then, quintuple your assets and ask yourself how much more you'd feel able to pay now. Imagine the number of people who might think the same, or have even stronger feelings for her. Some of them have those resources, and pay accordingly - and you are that person to someone else less prosperous than you.
