External Link/Members OnlyI was on the look out for somewhere new for a decent massage, so I thought I would try this place in Chilwell. Not my usual area but not too far out of my way. Not many reviews on here and certainly none very recent so I thought it would be best to try it for myself. I wasn't too bothered about a HE but if one was offered at a decent price I would probably have taken it. This massage took place about a week ago.
Price paid: £50 for 60 minutes.
Services offered in price paid: Relaxation massage.
Comms: All done very easily via a phone call and details of services on offer were provided over the phone.
Location: Parked right outside on the street in front of a row of shops. Mai Thai is in the row of shops to the right. Pressed the doorbell and was let in straight away. It looks like there are two rooms off the reception. The reception area was smart and clean.
The girl: Pretty young thai girl, early twenties, probably about 22 or 23. No flesh on show, very professional looking wearing a smart black tunic and black leggings.
THE ACTIONI was told to go into the smaller of the two rooms behind reception. It was very cramped and only just enough room around the massage table to get undressed. I managed to hit my elbow on the wall a couple of times lol. It was nice and warm in there thanks to a small radiator. She started the music playing on an ipod (usual thai relaxation music) and she told me to get undressed and she would be back in a few minutes. There was a towel on the table and she told me to cover myself with it and lie face down on the table. Although she didn't specify, I assumed she meant completely naked otherwise there would be no point covering myself with the towel, so I stripped to my birthday suit.
After a few minutes she shouted from outside "are you ready" and I shouted back "yes". She came in and started the massage, first my feet, then my legs. Then she got on top of me and applied her body weight up and down my body. This felt good as she is only small, young and slim so not too heavy, just about right. She was very chatty, spoke good English, nice to talk to. Although I only paid for the relaxation massage (the only other option was a deep tissue massage at £60) it was still quite firm. She really worked her fingers into my muscles on my legs and then my back and shoulders. She got in really deep in my shoulders and she said I was really knotty. She spent quite a while working on the knots and it was great. I could tell she was trained as she clearly knew what she was doing. She even explained what she was doing at various stages which was helpful.
Whilst chatting she mentioned that some customers ask for extras and she always tells them "no extras here" and tells them they need to go elsewhere if they are looking for that. I recall seeing a previous review on here where a HE and BTB was provided, but unless she is lying to me (maybe she didn't like the look of me) then I don't think they do extras here any more and it's strictly a legit place now.
After half an hour she told me to turn over. She looked away and held the towel up to spare my modesty while I turned over. Then she placed the towel back down over my middle area and proceeded to massage my legs again and then my chest, neck, shoulders and head. It was nice looking at her while we chatted some more. She is very friendly and she appears to enjoy what she does.
I ascertained from our conversation that there are two other ladies working here, "Mai" who I think is the owner and "B". She says "B" also works at Chada Thai Therapy in Loughborough (
External Link/Members Only) and I'm pretty sure that Chada Thai does HE so I'm wondering if a HE may have been offered if "B" had done my massage.
Anyway, definitely no extras coming from this young girl (I managed to find out her name was "Sam" later when one of the other ladies called for her). But I didn't mind as I found her massage technique to be excellent. I felt great for days afterwards.
Verdict: A great massage at a decent price from a pretty young girl, but don't expect any extras here. She mentioned that their price has just gone up to £50 from £45 and she said this was in line with all of the other thai massage providers in the area (price fixing by the sounds of it). I have seen another thai lady advertising not too far away and she appears to still be charging £45, so I may give her a try to see how she compares (every penny counts). I would also add that even though this was a relaxation massage, it was very firm at times and felt more like the deep tissue massage that I've received from other places, so it was very good value IMO. I may return and try one of the other ladies next time, but I think I will try a few other places first.
I'd be interested to know if anyone else has been here recently and been offered any extras, particularly from Sam.
