Humberside Police said: “A man has been remanded after being charged with a human trafficking offence following his arrest yesterday.

“Colleagues from British Transport Police were approached by a woman at Hull Paragon Station on Monday 19 December. The woman reported that she had been trafficked into the country and forced into sex work in various towns and cities across the UK.

“Officers from our specialist Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking team investigated the reports and arrested three people in Hull yesterday (Tuesday 20 December).

“Gheorghe Bonculescu, 26, of Balby, Doncaster, has been charged with human trafficking with a view to exploitation. He appeared at Hull Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 21 December), where he was remanded into custody to appear at court next month.

“Two women were also arrested in connection with the reports. They have both since been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue.

I never go with Romanians for exactly this sort of thing.

Forgive my ignorance but - realistically what could happen if you've punted one of these lasses? Been with a few Roms in the past so maybe its just paranoia creeping in. I cant really see them going through the effort of WG phones and seeing who's punted them

If you were caught in the act with a trafficked SP you'd definitely be arrested and likely be prosecuted.

Understandable. What about past punts if they go through a WGs phone etc and potentially trace punters that way? Maybe I'm being paranoid (rightly so?). I'm sure many of us have punted Roms in the past so maybe others reading too are a bit concerned

You would think that as technically that's the law but this brothel raid from 2 years back which uncovered coerced sex workers let the clients go without charge. Clients were half naked too and there was no illusion as to what was going on. Afaik there was no follow up on the punters being arrested but the traffickers were:
