Anybody tried Viagra etc

Just wonder if any of the older guys on here used Viagra or the other similar treatments?

I am in Early 60's and my blood pressure medication causes problems keeping an erection.

I am really interested in the side effects - a few of them seem pretty horrific!!

So any personal experience story's would be good to hear.

I know a lot of you youngns will be smiling at this- but wait until you get old!!

The enhancers work differently.

For me:
Viagra gives best results, a great erection after 20 minutes or so, but carries on to the following morning when I wake with a real whopper! Sweating and a slight headache.
Levitra is OK, not quite so effective, but no side effects.
Cialis doesn't give any noticeable result at all.

But I guess YMMV as they say.

Did you try halving tablets or anything?

I'm 70 and tried the lot. Viagra can give me a bad head. but it does not always work for me. Cialis 5 mg taken daily works best for me but is expensive. Kamagra does the same as Viagra and a fraction of the cost.
But if you are taking any type of heart medication dont be shy and  have a word with your doctor.  Believe you me they will have heard it all before.

No obvious vision problems, just use a couple of Beechams for the headache, I now take these before the punt and it seems to work.

Viagra seems to work for about 12 - 15 hours for me, and I have had up to 4 squirts in that time (with an enthusiastic WG). The widely available generics don't seem to work as well.

Never halved the tablets.

I've got Cialis on a repeat prescription 

I did the meeting with the doc and put an act on about how it was always floppy even when waking up, and how the pressure of getting it hard spoilt sex and I was scared the wife would start looking elsewhere, asked if he could recommend a website where the pills would be genuine and not dangerous fakes or could I have a private prescription for it, doc tells me because of his qualifications he can prescribe it (seems that not every GP can do that). He put's on on repeat prescription for me and does a blood test only to find out I'm diabetic so now I can have them whenever I want.

Cialis is the only one I've ever tried I take a pill a couple of hours before hand and the effects last for around 36 hours never had any side effects with it.

As jonjo29 says go and have a chat with the doc he's heard it all before and will give you the pills that won't block the other medication meaning you die on the job

The doc's put me on 'generic Viagra', which doesn't work as well for me, but that might be just a psychological reaction that'll wear off after I've used it for a while.

Only Viagra. Just a half or sometimes about a third of a 100mg tab does it for me. Don't get the headaches but can get a flushed face and blocked conk which is a pain if into FK and RO as I can't breathe through my ears. Effects last 12-18 hours for me which can be handy.
If you have heart issues though definitely don't start buggering around with these meds until a quack gives you the all clear !

I don't think you 'll be described Viagra (or the other two) if you have high blood pressure and are taking medication for it. Check with your doctor.

Yo can now get generic Viagra (sildenafil) on an NHS prescription even if you don't have the usual qualifying conditions. So if your over 60 it is free and you get the benefits of being properly assessed. Branded Viagra and all the othe erectile dysfunction drugs are still expensive though

Have tried Viagra once - gave me a headache which lasted about 5min, just after I took it.
Effects only lasted about an hour though, and not very spectacular. (50mg dose - guess I need more?)

I'm sure I've read somewhere that if you have an erection last for four hours or more then get yourself along to an A&E because you're causing damage to yourself.

As Parisno said it just makes it easier to go hard and the erection is stronger and usually lasts longer (for me anyway) but foreplay is required to get it hard in the first place.

i have been taking generic viagra for a year now and find the 100 mg tablet always works for me, the only side effect is a dry mouth which is easily cured by drinking a pint of water.

An update!!

I took the plunge (after some help and great advice from someone on here who shall remain nameless!)

Half a tab of Kamagra (50mg) an hour before my meet.

Drank plenty of water with it and after. Nothing to eat either.

Nothing happened until undressed with lady. At which point Hellooo pleased to see you! As mr previously floppy came to attention.

Let's say it has been a long long time since that happened.

Stayed hard during - orgasm was fine - was still reasonably hard inside for about 5 mins after.

Didn't go for another round - I really just wanted to do a lap of honour.

Girl was excited for me too! I had told her what I was doing.

No bad after effects. A bit of a headache. Slightly stuffy nose. But it's now 4 hours after and I feel fine!

Wish I had taken the plunge years ago!!

Yep me too.A second pop is usually out of the question as I would have to pay for an all nighter for it to happen.I take the Viagra substitute Sildenafil I think it's called.I halve a 100mg tab and within about 10 mins I get the flushed,hot face which only lasts for a short while and a little blurred vision at the edges.Strangely enough though,I did manage three pops in an hour once but it's never happened since.The tablets only work for about 4 hours for me so perhaps I need to be taking a whole one.
Is anyone else restricted in the amount the DR will let you have?I am limited to just 4 100mg tablets a month he will not give me a prescription for any more.

don't think there is any hard (!) and fast rules about that.  Different conditions can cause things to go wrong earlier for some than others.  There's also always a bit of psychological trickery that can cause problems too.  Late 30's I tipped up with early stage BHP  which did it for me.  Plus from early 30's any amount of alcohol would cause problems too

If you suffer low blood pressure, then there are some potential dangers.  Otherwise pretty safe.  try a very low dose first.  Viagra (and its generics) tend to be sold on line in 100mg tablets, which is the maximum dose you would get from your doctor.  quarter one of them (so 25mg) and see how it goes.  maybe try it in the comfort of your own home first so you know what to expect.

I get less side effects from Cialiis than viagra.  50mg viagra or 10mg ciallis is more than enough for me.  benefit of ciallis is it lasts a good 24 hours or so, which is useful sometimes with the unpredictability of a last minute punt.

I did try 10mg ciallis and then half an hour before a punt necked 50mg viagra - that was interesting!

I suspect he means BPH Benign prostatic hyperplasia or enlarged prostate.

No he means low blood pressure, put very very simply these drugs work by relaxing the muscles and allowing greater blood flow to your cock, this has the side effect of lowering blood pressure slightly, think about it like a hose pipe with a small kink at the end, the pressure will build up in the hose as the water does not flow smoothly, loosen the kink the water flows more easily, but the pressure in the hose is reduced.

Low blood pressure can be as bad as high. If it gets too low you pass out!  The history of viagra is that it was an accidental discovery made while testing a new drug for hyper tension ( high blood pressure)  all the guys that did the clinical trial reported the same 'side effect' so they marketed it as an ED cure instead

The only real horror stories come from folks that mix it with some other recreational drugs at the same time. Poppers and viagra is a pretty bad mix if not one of the worst

I see, that is interesting to say the least. I thought this "Karmagra" brand sprouted from the Nothingness jellies that were hitting the streets in early 00's
