You should never carry your driving licence in your wallet, but keep it in a safe hidden place at home.

I do carry my license in my wallet. Never gave it much thought as I'd not lost a wallet before.

I only really need a wallet to carry with my cards so that I can withdraw cash for our favourite hobby.

I doubt the Police even ask you for it these days as they can see a digital copy via DVLA.

That said I have been wrong once already today  ;)  :D

Great news and it gives one hope about human nature.

This should go on the what made you smile happy / thread.

have found 2 bank cards recently at my local supermarket, one was on the floor at the hole in the wall atm  and a few weeks later was inside at the self service pay machines and a card was still in the machine from the customer before me, handed both into customer services

A happy ending

You should never carry your driving licence in your wallet, but keep it in a safe hidden place at home. The Police can identify you from your card details if your wallet is found (or your body  :D) If stopped by teh Police they will not expect you to have your licence with you but can readily check it anyway via DVLA.

Only produce it outside of the home if required for a specific purpose and then return it home. Some young people may need to carry it for 'over 18' ID purposes.

In my wallet I have a small card with just my mobile number on and saying "if found please call."

I also have the same on my car keys, saying 'reward if found'. Given the cost of replacement car keys these days, offering a reward is good value. I don't however also have my house key on the same keyring. You should never do that.

I lost a wallet a few years ago. Small amount of cash and cards. No big deal to sort. The wallet itself was of sentimental value though, having been given to me by grandchildren. This also had a happy ending though that is a long story

Yep, going forward I'm going to leave my drivers licence at home. I don't need it and that was the bit I was most worried about in case someone took out a big loan in my name or something. I don't even think I need my wallet most days. I just took it out when I used the tube as I preferred tapping in and out with a card rather than my phone, which is a weird thing I don't need to do so going to use my phone from now on.

I had to pay £14 for a new drivers licence which isn't much, but I also learned the 10 year expiry resets and my old licence was due to expire in a couple of years anyway, so lesson learned.

I like the idea of adding a mobile number and mention reward, I'm going to do that. I thought if a citizen found my wallet in the street they would have seen my address on my licence and wanted to return it but decided I lived too far away, even if it's a 5 minute walk they may think sod it. So a call would work much better.

Family on a flight I've been on.
One child spoke for just about all of the flight in a really loud voice.

Now I get that young uns can be hard to control , brought 2 up myself, but a bit of consideration for others. I don't believe at any point they suggested "indoor voices" with her at points squealing and singing really really loudly.
Better than a crying screaming fckr at least she seemed happy but FFS just turn the volume down.

You should have joined in and taught her to sing "The Punters on the Plane go fuck fuck fuck....."
