The Sheffield scene - Notes and HL

In case it helps anyone, I thought I'd write up my notes. One surprise is how huge the sex scene is in Sheff, so I'm sure there's quite a lot that I'm missing.

It's also useful to note, in case anyone has connections with politicians there, that the structure of the Sheff scene has a lot of potential to be a sex destination. With the variety of sex clubs and walk-up type flats, all they need are higher quality girls and some local non-sex activities to become a worthy sex destination.

These seem to be flats, a bit similar to the Soho walkups. They all close fairly early, which can make it difficult to visit if you are busy during the day. By cycle they're an easy 10-15 minutes from the Paradise/Ceasar's area (although Honeypot, Diplomat, etc, are open at totally different times of the day than Paradise and Ceasar's). There's also public transport that goes there from the city centre, from Arundel gate.

I used to do the saunas/parlours in Sheffield 20 or so years ago.
Then found myself drawn to Manchester’s brothels due to: better websites/pictures/accurate rotas, no entrance fee,  less pretence of “health club/spa” with changing room locker and towel/robe arrangement.
But now I think I would prefer the more relaxed/take your time to pick an SP “sauna”  scene if they still operate that way.

I used to love the sheffield sauna scene.  Started out in Athena when it was off London road, found a better set up at ambassador (off west street), and made a lot of use of Caesars (mainly at their old address but a couple of times at their current location).  Bird of paradise and omega on attercliffe took a fair amount of my money and towards the end Crystal suite was my go-to.  Just loved that you could lounge around making use of the spa facilities while checking out the girls as they swanned about doing their own thing.

Sadly that setting is a thing of the past.  With the exception of Caesars, all the others closed their doors for one reason or another.  Caesars falls in with the other sex clubs only offering a bar and bedrooms.  I would say unit 8 is now the only place that comes anywhere close to the old saunas but it still doesn't look like you leave your kit in a locker and wonder about in a towel like the old days.

That said, before lock down they had some decent lasses there and apparently, the parties were worth the money if that's your thing.  Not many good reviews out of there since though.  I generally visit independent escorts or massage parlours now.

Cheers. This is why Sheffield could be an incredible destination for punting. Does anyone know why the structure was/is so good there? Are these places grandfathered in as remnants of a thriving steel town, when politicians wanted to keep their hard-working men happy? Or is it still that politicians still allow these places to keep the relatively poor working class happy and preoccupied? I'm personally happy to live a relatively unluxurious life with very little, yet I feel satisfied as long as I can punt.

I think it's a fair assumption that, historically, sheffield has had a long standing tolerance of saunas because it kept the girls off the streets.... well, some of them anyway.  I have never done the curb crawling thing but there were areas where street girls used to be visible.  To be fair, I never have to pass through those areas at night anymore so couldn't say if that's still the case.

There is certainly more activity in sheffield than say, Rotherham.  Doncaster seems to have maintained a level of activity as has Barnsley but they certainly weren't at the same level.

Honestly, for me, it will never be the same unless establishments return to the spa arrangement but on the other hand, if the sex clubs get punters in with just a bar and rooms to shag in, why would they go to the expense of a hot tub, sauna, and steam room?  And to be fair, this way possibly turns punters over quicker.

I think the establishments now are walking a fine line with how they may be perceived as brothels and the legal nerves that seems to jab at.  I think if the area was to be openly considered as a sex capital attracting sex tourists, we'd probably see a less tolerant approach from the authorities to bring that under control.  After all, who, as a leading figure would want that for the city they represent?

Maybe this is a case of 'careful what you wish for'?
