Thai Orchid used to be a shop in Wellington. I never visited but there were reports that the manager ran a legit business, although her staff would occasionally throw a sneaky extra at risk of being fired. The shop is now closed, but the owner still offers Thai massage from her home.

Booking was about a month ago and straightforward by text. Directions sent for a private road not currently registered on my SatNav. Note the potential to get lost. The venue is on a private road near to Wrekin College. Nice estate with detached houses. Parked on her drive. One hour traditional massage £45:

Ok, so the background did not offer much encouragement that any extras would be available, but I fancied a traditional therapeutic massage to ease a persistent muscle strain and went along with no great expectations of anything else.

On arrival, the lady directed me upstairs and asked me to fill in a form with address, medical details etc. I was caught off guard and made up a name and a few details. She then went through the form with a fine tooth comb. At this point she was not particularly welcoming or smiley, probably sensing that I was making up stuff. Interrogation over and I was on the table. Strictly underpants on, but I was not too surprised and had come expecting a good therapeutic massage which is what I got. Something that I had not experienced before was the use of a large vibrating massager on the back of my legs, my back and shoulders. Altogether not an unpleasant sensation. This was followed by application of a wooden block to various parts of my body which she then wacked with a large rubber headed mallet. To be honest this was quite alarming at first – when I say wacked it was a series of really solid blows that reverberated through my bones. The end of the massage was more gentle and relaxing and was accompanied by details of exercises that I should do at home to stretch my muscles and remain agile in my old age. The lady became much more friendly and smiley as the hour passed. It was my first visit and I suspect that she was silently questioning my motives when I arrived and who can blame her frankly.

She used a lot of tiger balm – so watch out if you are heading home to the wife without a ready explanation.

I would not go back unless I was in greater need of therapy, but I could not fault the whole experience on the basis of it being a legit therapeutic massage. I go for neutral – only because of the frosty reception.

Cheers for the review, helpful to know that a place is (or at least seems legit). Could you share a little about her appearance/how she dressed? Never made it in when the shop was open because there were other options!

Thanks for the review. I didn't know the shop had closed but hadn't visited there anyway.
Saw her many years ago at her home and it was a totally legit experience.
I seem to recall Beamer saying that it was worth playing the long game but he said that about pretty much everybody.  :unknown:

Orchid (if that's her name) must be in her 50s, she is slim, petite, long hair...... it was a totally legit experience so her appearance was not something I considered in my review

While I was having the massage she told me about her shop. It was clear from her narrative that she had problems with staff offering extras in the rooms without her knowledge/permission.  She was very disapproving so I doubt a long game would lead to anything

Hi Andy thanks for the review, I saw her many moons ago before she had the shop in Wellington, then she worked from a house near the Captain Webb pub, totally legit then. Worth pointing out the post code given on her advert is Old Hall Gardens not Old Hall Fields and the pin on Google maps is correct as it is just up from the Cock Hotel Pub… not anywhere near the Wrekin College to be fair bud

Sorry Shroplad, the confusion is partly my fault, but you have made the mistake of assuming the postcode (pinned to Old Hall Gardens on Google maps) on her website is correct.

On doublechecking I now see that the address on the website is only partly correct. The address is given as Old Hall Fields and this is correct. But the postcode on the website is for Old Hall Gardens (TF1 1QD) i.e. the postcode is for the wrong road. The Google map pin is based on the incorrect postcode and is therefore in the wrong place. As stated in my review, Old Hall Fields is close to Wrekin College. It is not near the Cock Hotel.

I know where I went  ;) but I don't know the correct postcode. It's a new estate and not in my satnav map. I stopped and asked a postie but he did not know the address either. If you make a booking, Orchid will guide you in, but I recommend allowing an extra 15 minutes!

Apologies but it’s me who is mistaken, upon further investigation I can see that Old Hall Fields is off Mill Lane near to the Wrekin College

I thought I knew the area but I'm totally confused.
 :D :D   :D :D
She clearly doesn't want anybody to find her.

That's correct - It is a private road off Mill La
