Not sure if this should be on the recommendations thread but there are two great programmes about the beeb as part of their 100 years.
"How the BBC began" a documentary on the early years at the Beeb. Its strange to realise just how groundbreaking and cutting edge the creation of a public service broadcaster was. Details of the errors and mis-steps are included. Interesting just how "human" the BBC was - and I mean that in terms of how it made errors because of individual frailties and misjudgements. But also a spirit of adventure and ambition too.
Conversely "The love box in your living room" is a Harry Enfield mockumentary on the same subject. A fantastic ensemble cast with Paul Whitehouse, Simon Greensall amongst others showing true versatility and it rips into many of the BBC's most iconic shows and faces as well as other British cultural icons from the last 100 years. There is also a smattering of jokes in there which are of the type that some would say that you could not say today - completely disproving that point. And although it is pretty cutting, it isn't mean-spirited. Some real belly laughs as well.
