All. I don't mind admitting I felt rather out of my depth when joining UKP.

A bit of context: my significant other passed away eighteen months ago after a long illness and, while dealing with that, while juggling young children and professional responsibilities, it never seemed the right time to move on either with dating, socialising etc. Then earlier this year a colleague suggested punting as a means of getting back in the saddle and I eventually found my way to UKP.

I always said I would only punt for a few months and, while the last couple of months has been fun, I don't see me doing this as a long term thing although who knows, I may dip in and out again in the future. I may still retain my UKP membership too.

In any case, thank you to all those who have posted answering my questions, posted reviews, or have posted before in threads that were extremely useful reference posts. It's been a positive experience both physically and for the mental health.

God speed.

The thing that struck me in your post was young kids, never easy to move on in that situation, very tough for them losing their mother and being very protective of them is quite natural, just hard on yourself and your future.

I reckon your mate did you a very good turn, not many would suggest it, maybe having to admit they do, would like to buy that man a pint  :drinks:.

Awesome post, and I’m sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how tough life has been for you. I’m glad you’ve found something that gives you a little time for yourself and to satisfy your natural needs.

It’s good to know that collectively you have got some help and support here. After all, that’s ultimately what the site is for. Our hobby is generally frowned upon, but here we are among like minded friends. Stay safe and well

Sorry to hear about your loss.
With young kids you'll have your hands full, so hope you're able to cope ok.
I assume you're still comparatively young compared to many on here so best wishes for the future whatever that holds.

Your membership stays open and it's probably true to say that many of us 'dip in and out' of this pastime as our circumstances and needs change.

Lots of positive comments on this post, which I agree with. Well done UKP members!

Thank you to Indefatigable for such a positive post, and good luck to him and his family.

All the best to you.
