I can't condone any of the predatory behavior, that should have been nipped in the bud years ago.
But to say his rap career was fake is very ignorant, he may be the son of a vicar, but he spent years before joining the BBC flying back and forth to America putting in serious leg work meeting all the big rappers before they were even famous in America, he knew all the producers over there and was the key to acts trying to break international, remember before the Internet the radio was basically the only way to reach mass audiences. Once on the BBC he would even broadcast his show from some of the American studios of big name producers.
He was also quite business savvy, because he wasn't an employee of BBC, he produced his show by his own firm and just sold each show to them, his company also sold the Chris goldfinger reggae dance hall show to the BBC
