Anyone play these. In my opinion they’re bent as fuck, designed to suck you in.

I’ve played on them when I put on my football bets and it’s always almost the same story. Always dropping next to your big stakes and will hit your number when you change it, psychologically trying to screw with your head and piss you off to make you put more money in.

I’ve seen blokes smash them up because they got so wound up and some guy even put one of those heavy chairs through it lol 😆🤣 and I can’t blame them.

Stay away from them , they’re pure evil 👿 👹👺

According to reports the owners of Ladbrokes made £875million profit in the financial year 2021 and you wonder why you can't win.   :unknown:

My ex was involved in the gambling business for a while. I ran a tipster biz in the 1970's briefly. Betting is for idiots, unless of course it's a bet you made with a friend about something.

I used played roulette on these machines, and ended up winning big, but learned to play cautious.

Dont know if this work now, probably not, so it seams the programmers had put in  a backdoor feature to allow them to win big on the machines.   So for instance 0 comes up, would then mean with in 6 spins, a set of black numbers: 2, 6, 10, 15, 29, 35

If no 25 came up twice, there a good chance it will come up for a third time

I used to win around £200 on a daily basis, but I tried not to draw attention to myself, like cashing in £1000 win

Maximum £2 limit for a few years now, imagine what they were like when you could bet £100

All of these gambling games are designed to hook you in and the FOBT machines were described as the crack cocaine of gambling

This article points out that since the £2 limit betting shops will be closing with the loss of jobs but what the article fails to point out is that the number of FOBT machines was limited per book makers shop, however they were so profitable that the same bookie would even open another shop in the same road or round the corner so these lost jobs were only ones that were created by praying on punters

They were quite good fun when you could bet £100 a spin, but a lot of people got into a real mess with them.

I thought they were about dead now they were limited to £2 a spin.  Especially for someone who spends the money that you do on escorts OP!

I played them for a bit when I put my footy bets on and sometimes won but lost overall.
I never got the impression that they were inherently bent but I did over hear a couple of blokes talking about patterns such as 0 coming in 3 times in a row and saw it for myself which does tend to indicate they aren't perhaps 100% random  :unknown:

IMO every game should be 100% random otherwise it's effectively a fix and i'm not sure how that can be legal however it is and has been like it for as long as I can remember.
Pub / arcade fruit machines were always bent as fuck, shouldn't be allowed

That’s after they brought in the £2 max rule, imagine how much they were raking in when you could bet £100 a spin?
Glad they got press ganged to do it, I’ve seen people lose £ thousands in the space of an hour, crazy watching them, I’d rather spent the money on a blue pill and a top tier super honey.

The crazy thing is people still play it, I do from time to time after putting on a bet but it’s boring, only so much you could with a £2 spin and imo they’re not random and  are like the old fruit machines and only pay out when they’re due to pay out.

I knew someone who used to work at a casino and they told me they used to call the engineer out if a slot machine was paying out so go figure  :unknown:

The Casino or betting shop are not in the business of losing money. You can work out systems on fruit machines too, my son has done it, fuck knows how much he spent to work it out, but he can keep an eye on them in the pub, pick his time, and always win. Not big money though, enough to pay for the beer and a kebab  :D

I only visit the bookmakers once or twice a year during grand nation.  once to place a £10 bet, and twice if I'm lucky to have a win.

there's always someone on a slot machine giving the large looking angry.  pretty sad existence really to be hooked on those terminals.
I knew someone and heard they spent their lunch time in a bookie and borrowed hundreds to feed his addiction.  The father was a gambling addict (horses/casino) and loss pretty much everything.  Sad to see the son go the same way.

Well I'm glad they reduced the maximum to £2.
As someone involved in the betting industry for years these were by far the worst tactic used by bookies I've ever seen.
There's another gambling reform bill in the pipeline and although it doesn't affect me anymore personally I'd like to see UK bookies
tackle problem gambling properly.
Also they shouldn't be able to ban winning or smart accounts which I'm not sure most people realise they do.
I used to go have accounts closed usually within a day sometimes a couple of days or they were restricted to pennies.

I used to know someone in the late 90s/early 2000s who used to work for a fruit machine manufacturer.

This was at a time when £25 jackpots were the thing. He told me that on those machines it pays out £125 out of every £200 put in no matter how you played it. He also told me the payout it was set to was based on thousands on spins to reach the figure. The light pattern on the attract mode and in game was designed by psychologists to tempt you in and play more recklessly in game.

The whole thing is more bent than a horseshoe.

You were lucky as they are complex number generators. It's good you don't play them anymore

My brother in law, was addicted to them
Lost his full wages on them a few times.
He's recovered now.
I don't like them. It's like throwing money away.
A few people may win "but" 99% of people (my estimation) lose  :(
They should be banned (in my opinion).

It's a tough one really as on the one hand it's peoples free choice as adults whether or not to play them or to gamble in any way whatsoever but on the other hand it does appear that these things (and fruit machines) are designed to hook you in

The difference is with drink / drugs etc people enter into that world knowing the potential dangers whereas a seemingly innocent £5 bit of fun can potentially spiral out of control for some people.

If anyone watched the recent documentary on BBC about problem gambling from Paul Merson he basically said he's been addicted to drink; drugs and gambling but gambling was the hardest one to kick and the one that there's little understanding of and hardly any help for either

I do enjoy a punt. But I have a strict monthly  allowance for any form of gambling.

I mostly place sports bets or poker. Occasionally raffle competitions. And very rarely euromillions when there is a big jackpot.

Correct. Even at their new lower stake price they're still a nice earner for the bookies which is why they should be left well alone.
