Author Topic: GUM/STD clinics in London doing walk ins now?  (Read 1501 times)

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

A friend has been trying to get himself looked at but no-one seems to do walk-ins now. You have to ring to make an appointment for someone (a doc or nurse) to ring you and then that person will decide whether you should come in. But it's impossible to get anyone to answer the phone in the first place, according to my friend. Any suggestions please? Thanks

Not sure where in London you are, but if I’m the North side, I know Watford has walk ins available twice a week. This was correct about three weeks ago.

shl.co.uk, they will send you a home kit send it off and results via email in four days.

There's a place off Tottenham Court Road, Mortimer market place give them a call not sure if they still do walk in doesn't hurt to give them a call

There are emergency appointments still available via clinics, you can book if you go on SHL and have symptoms clinics in your area will recommended to call, when you call them they can give you an appointment the following day for a walk in if you call first thing in the morning.

Home test kits are an option, should be able to order a set from your local walk in clinic's website for free. They arrive within couple days, and results are text/emailed to you, again within a couple days. Although not as accurate as a proper swab jobbie in a clinic, they are still good enough.

Or you can go private and pay for same day appointments same day results.

Thanks for all the answers above. I've relayed the suggestions to my mate. I think he's going with the home test kit from SHL.

Fair enough about home testing kits where that wouldn't be a problem, eg you live alone. However, this is absolutely not the same as a walk-in.
Are any London clinics now going back to walk-ins? My favourite was always Dean St.
