I don’t have a punting phone as it would be hard for me to conceal it.
Not trying to teach granny to suck eggs here, but a separate phone for business and pleasure is so important, I’ll make a couple of suggestions that apologies if they’re obvious….. but one of my mottos in life is, “it’s only easy if you know how”.
It’s what I tell my team at work so they know to ask if they don’t know…. even if the question seems stupid haha.
But yes.
Punting sim… all very well but you need to be a little tech savvy to ensure it doesn’t import your contacts or make it a main number if you have an iPhone. It’s easy enough and a sim is ultra easy to hide. It can even be in plain sight with the excuse “oh it’s an old one they sent a replacement for and that can just be thrown” if found.
Punting phone. The easiest option and you can of course get very cheaply a new phone, or obviously an old one you don’t use anymore.
Hiding place suggestions….
Do you have a traditional old house with a cellar? If so partners don’t usually like going down I’ve found and it’s a “mans world” down there with your beer fridge and tools. Tool box? Look to the ceiling… it’s probably in ropey shape from Victorian times… you’ll have a roof cavity you can stick it in or failing that, nail up a piece of hardboard and you can hide all sorts under that. Unless your partner is a real hands on handy person then she just won’t go scrabbling amongst the grot. Experience…. They just won’t!
Got a 30s council house (or ex)? Take a tip from Walter White… it will have ventilation grills in the walls (I worked with surveyors). There you go.
Got a dormer with easy access loft in the form of a trap door in the wall or even a normal loft which you can access? Absolutely nobody will think of looking under the lagging for a bag with a phone in it.
But remember… Walter White got caught out with his second phone… so don’t you
