Just noticed this - FYI, not true. Most recent census puts black population in England and Wales (so not UK; but Scotland and NI unlikely to make much difference) at circa 3%.

Outside of the major urban centres, most communities are still majority white. Totally different in London, Manchester, Birmingham etc. But that doesn't reflect the entire country. Just saying.

This is true. 3% in the UK, but a much larger 15% in the US.

I think in the UK Asian (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc) accounts for 10% of the population, with a total of around 15% non-White (that's the 3% + the 10% + 2% others).

He's probably thinking about America where it IS 13%. I think some people imagine that more than 3% of the UK population is black because they are overrepresented in adverts etc. Or he lives in London where, as you say,  a much higher percentage of the population is black.

Thanks, I think we were just clarifying misinformation. A tangential point, sure - but accuracy is important. And as I mentioned, I think discretion can also be applied so that enforcement of the rules is purposive and not overly officious.

Apart from it being in the rules, something you should be aware of, there were enough warnings posted on this thread that you ignored.

What is worrying me is that everyone feels it’s right to discuss a banned subject (race) on here.. 

The Op is within his rights to post it as a negative review, as he had his time wasted.

The law of the land states that ignorance is no excuse, however we don't work like that, if there has been a rule change that someone may not be aware of we will point it out if it has been broken.

On this thread Kev posted a warning then quoted the rules on 28th,  Fitzjew ignored those and several other warnings from both Kev and me and continued posting on the racist theme the following day, (one of his posts even being right after one of Kev's) hence him being banned.

In short we don't expect members to reread the rules every 5 minutes but we do expect them to abide by any new ones when they are pointed out. Thats okay daviemac, no qualms there, which is why i havent really ever questioned too much some of the banning. You tell them something...they ignore ...they get banned..straight forward maths

but Web's post made it out like "Not knowing isnt an excuse". Which is an incredible thing because by definition if you dont know then you literally dont know that you are doing wrong. That's why you guys dont ban straight away i imagine?...you leave room that they didnt know and then give them a chance to rectify it.

Someone has to tell you that you are doing wrong, then you accept you did wrong and then dont do it moving forward

You'd have to be a be thick not to realise, or more likely people are trying to test what gets picked up

There are things which UKP'ers might miss
Like not posting veri pics

Most UKP'ers paying a modicum of attention will be able to identify a genuine mistake
It's also relates to who is posting whatever it might be
Think of it in footy terms
Kane does a mistimed tackle & gets a yellow card, unlikely to be a red
Xhaka puts in a bad tackle & the ref is already thinking about a card before contact is made
And the ref has a fair chance of being correct
