Hi,  :hi: Does anyone her use Miracast or Project to PC to play films etc via smart TV? I've tried doing this on several occasions, but the amount of lag is awful, and quite often the picture will freeze completely. It's really starting to piss me off as surely these things should just work seamlessly in the 21st century?  :dash:
Any tips on how to prevent this before I chuck everything out of the window?!  :sarcastic:

It may not be suitable for you but I've got my PC hard wired to my TV via a HMDI cable and set to 'duplicate the displays'. It's a smart TV as well but I don't bother with any of the features.

If I'd read this about 2 months ago I wouldn't have had a clue about what you're talking about. However, I came across this website....

It appears to be Russian, which might raise a few alarm bells, but I've had no problems with it and have been using it to watch a number of movies via my Sony smart TV. I've been able to "cast" from my PC to my TV when using the website.
As I said, before this didn't really have a clue about casting or that my tv could do it.
Not really sure I've helped, but thought I would share info. :hi:

I've found data rates, software stability/compatability (especially on TVs) and WiFi chip issues in phones, laptops and TVs have always caused transmission problems, especially if trying to cast HD quality for longer.
If you're casting from a laptop that has a hdmi/dvi/usb c video output then better to get a cheap dongle if needed and then connect direct to your TV.  Otherwise if your TV can take a usb stick or SD card then transfer the video files onto that and then run it from the TV's media browser, again especially if you're playing back HD or higher quality.  Fast enough USB/SD card storage is available for cheap.  If you also playback on your phone then get a fastish microSD if possible and a card reader for the TV's USB port if needed.
