I've got a question about the easter Bank Holiday weekend. My question is - are shops, supermarkets, call centres, banks, etc open at normal times compared to a normal Saturday or are there times are reduced or closed due to the fact it is the easter period?

Thanks to all those who answer this question.

The reason for my question is because I have to do a few things and Saturday is a day where I am free and able to do these things.

Shops in my neck of the woods, chain and independent, seem to be operating standard Saturday opening times.

Everything should be open as normal on Saturday, or as normal as they can open in lockdown.

Supermarkets are shut on Sunday which is an archaic law in 2021.

No it isn't. There are two preserved non retail days in the year, Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

Only the ones over a certain size I think, the mini and locals seem to be able to open.

Different law in Scotland, shops are open as normal on Sunday.

A quick Google or SM search, may reveal opening times of the shops you wish to frequent.

The simple answer is there’s no such thing as Easter Saturday
It’s just Saturday

Not so. In religious circles it's known as "Holy Saturday" which to fit in with the other religious observations, gets called "Easter Saturday".

Just a normal Saturday as any other covid ravaged one .

Sunday is different with large supermarkets closed all day, I wish they would continue that post lock down.
