Don't fling stones then complain when the big boys call you out for it.

Sorry? :unknown:

Time for the Scottish to bend some bananas.

Just a point, Sedlmayer - James VI of Scotland became James I of England,.

Fwiw, I agree with SirFrank that the way this thread has developed, it really ought to be in Off Topic now.

Specially after I add my twopennyworth.  I think that it ought to be a UK-wide vote on the grounds that my old [Geordie] pal from College days who now lives in Glasgow has a vote, yet my Scottish-born neighbour hasn't.

All this post does is show how racist you fuking white honky engerland cunts really are.  Narrow minded bigoted cunts.

It is Scotland who are talking about breaking away, they are not being pushed, but it seems the Scots want to be begged to stay, and thus gain further financial advantages, the reality is the sums have been done and on a financial basis Scotland on a stand alone basis is fucked, if the Scots want to vote for that then that's up to them, they seem upset that we don't care  :sarcastic:

I didn't realise that people from Scotland were a different "race", that explains their weird accent.

It should do.
However i wouldn't have thought it would be very popular, questions about exotic destinations like Dubai, Thailand & Singapore from british punters i can see but Glasgow  :unknown:

It will be good for our economy as we will have a fucking great wall to rebuild

Personally, I can't wait until we vote Yes and dump the rumpUK.

1) Sterling is a fully tradeable currency, so actually no-one could stop us using it if we choose to.
2) Rebuild Hadrians wall if you want. Its upto 60 miles South of the border, we'd just make the country that little bit bigger
3) I'd rather have Salmond run my country than Cameron or Farage, any day.
4) I'd miss reading the banter here, but lets face it, I'd sleep so much better not living within 30 km of Europes largest nuclear weapons cache that I'd be willing to make sacrifices...

love your sense of humour, well done, total delusional, just like the SNP (Small nationalist Party or is that Socialist national party?)

A thread thoroughly worthy of being put in the cunts thread.

you racist bastards scots also have dark hair.

Sir Frank started this thread by calling an elected First Minister a cunt and the comment has deteriorated since.
On a point of fact Scotland puts in more to the UK economy than she is given back.
Whatever happens the oldest profession will thrive one way or another.
I come from mixed Scottish/English parentage,  I have many Welsh relations [I served in the Welch Regiment],  so you can all have a go at me

Wow, I always thought you were a bit of a dick based on your previous posts. But fuck, you just went to a whole new level of cunt with this one.

Did I miss something racist being said? Or is TJ just drunk?

Got to be a contender for the most bizarre post of the day.

Do you have a source for that? Also any historical records - is this a point in time or has it always been that way?

Erm no apparently. (I was also wrong on this when I posted earlier, I was just going on old data from the looks of it)

In February 2012, the Centre for Economics and Business Research concluded that "Scotland receives no net subsidy" from the UK, as greater per capita tax generation in Scotland balanced out greater per capita public spending.[181] More recent data, from 2012–13, show that Scotland generated 9.1% (£53.1bn; this included a geographical share of North Sea oil revenue – without it, the figures were 8.2% and £47.6bn) of the UK's tax revenues and received 9.3% (£65.2bn) of spending

Not sure why you mention your parentage but if it helps some I am half Scots half Welsh

No shortage of these debates on loads of message boards and they all seem to have the same pattern.

- All the Scottish guys/gals who post support independence.
- About 80% of Scottish guys on the forums don't post - which I take to be keeping out of the argument cos the "no" vote isn't trendy
- UKIP are usually mentioned and brought up as an example of English racism - despite UKIP never having won a parliamentary seat
- The "yes" vote guys never post any reliable facts to support anything and after a while their argument resorts to being abusive and all the emotional stuff like the centuries of slavery, English racist, they support the whole thing etc.
- To be fair there are usually enough rUK guys going "fuck off you ungrateful toerags" - I'm usually in that camp.

I have only read the last few posts - do we have it all yet or is anything missing?

The UK was created by a Union Of The Crowns when James I (of Scotland) became King Of England. England never conquered Scotland.

Your Incorrect, It was James VI of Scotland who United the crowns, he then became James I of England.

King Edward I (Longshanks) did a good job at trying to conquer the whole British Isles.

I think It's a mistake for Scotland to leave the union, but do many people realise that there would be no UK If Scotland left, as It's the Union of England & Scotland, Wales and NI are just a Principality of England and a Province of UK, so It would be back to the Kingdom of England again.

On your first point, of the 4 scots posting here, 2 were against independence, 1 for, and 1 hasn't declared.

Its hard to say if the stupid nordic model would come in first in scotland or not. Remember it could become law in scot without or with independence. That raving mad labour feminist rhoda grant from the equally mad western isles had a private bill before the scot parl last year. The snp had to employ a three line whip to make sure it was defeated. The snp have no desire to criminalise paying for sex. Labour like harman in  england do
Ill repost my post from this morning which was relevant to the original point about the nordic model. This is surely not the forum for debating the fors and against of independence, economic or otherwise.

1) Sterling is a fully tradeable currency, so actually no-one could stop us using it if we choose to.

It's not a question of what currency you can use it's the currency your bank would use, if it used Sterling it would have no fiscal control, one of the reasons for independance.

I'm not incorrect, I just referred to him by his more familiar (in England, where I live,) title:dash:

Well, I am firmly Scottish and I fucking despise Scottish Nationalism. Loathe it and hate it and look forward to seeing them getting their arses handed to them in September. Salmond is a creepy little cunt and Sturgeon is worse. The think I resent most is being asked the stupid question in the first place . I am confident that the silent majority will keep Scotland safely within the fold.

But, crucially, didn't succeed - the Scots have this colonial mentality when in fact they have always been equal partners  :dash:
