So been thinking and just found out that it has no symptoms most of the time. They say 1 in 10 will have symptoms.
My questions is do you think it's easy to pass on as there are no symptoms. Think how many of us punters are out there having oral with out.
Can you catch it from licking a infected pussy? Would hate to catch something like that without symptoms

Correct. That's why you go the the GUM for a checkup every few months.   Went for my last one earlier this week.  Quick chat, pee in a pot, some blood taken, and got a text back the next day saying "all clear."

Yes, Chlamydia is easy to pass on, although via OWO gonorrhoea is more of a worry. Especially the drug-resistant type.

Yes you can get oral chlamydia through unprotected oral as well as gonorrhoea, syphilis, HIV, herpes, HPV but the risk of transmission is much lower than penetration.

You don't have to justify anything, they would prefer you to get checked up regularly rather than waiting until symptoms present - by which time you could have bonked (and spread the STI) your way through half of the neighbourhood.

You either call to make an appointment or walk in (depending on how the clinics run) and you ask for full screening. They are not there to judge you and you have no reason to tell them you visit escorts but do be honest about the risks you have been exposed to and they will test you.

There are so many of these threads about that they had me worried. If you have the nerve to punt then you certainly have the courage to get down the GUM clinic. I did exactly that - wonderful staff and they answered all my questions. Did all the tests and got my all clear text. When it comes to health issues they are personal to each person. The threads can give you an idea but speaking to a medical professional is the best route. If everyone on here got tested it would help reduce the risks.

I disagree.  Chlamydia in women mainly affects the area around the cervix, which is why I made a sarcastic comment about tongue length.

I didn't say anything about other STIs, because the OP asked specifically about Chlamydia. Gonorrhoea, Syphilis and Herpes are all far more readily transmitted via oral, although again for Gonorrhoea fellatio is a bigger deal.  Gonorrhoea is much scarier than Chlamydia imo because it's rapidly becoming resistant to cephalosporins,  the current first-line antibiotic.  It's entirely possible it could become untreatable within the next decade, which would do far more to curtail my punting activity than any Nordic-inspired bans.

Generally, unless you're a virgin or completely celibate (unlikely given that you're reading this board , you don't need to justify.  Just make an appointment, go in, say I'd like a checkup, and they'll sort you out.

I must say, they do seem to be the most consistently efficient and helpful part of the NHS.   

EDIT - oh, and ask for a Hep B jab whilst you're there if you haven't had one. Hep B is very, very nasty (like cirrhosis and/or early death from liver cancer nasty), and quite easy to catch if you're not immunised.  Luckily a course of 3 jabs will protect you.

Chlamydia does mainly affect the cervix and I never denied that. As you clearly have an in depth understanding of STIs then I am sure you are aware that the bacteria however will be present in the vaginal secretions and is passed on through contact with vaginal fluids. Yes the risks are low through oral on a woman but they are still present and this is what I was trying to get across to the op. I totally missed the sarcasm in your post though tbh and thought you actually believed what you had written and that's why I responded lol

If smart as i see it a punter should get checked out quartely at a GUM. No need to justify it, the GUM WILL see you at any time you wish to go and test you. Either ring the GUM first or turn up when you know what days they are open. Its all very easy and most GUM staff fine in my experiences.

For what other range of illnesses you want checked, can you walk in off the street, no appointment, get seen immediately, have a blood test, urine test, mouth swab, visual check and get the results via a text message within two weeks????? And all anonymously if you want?
The staff are superb, completely non-judgemental, informative and helpful. Just brilliant....

Wish I could say the same about the NHS service I received for suspected pancreatitis.....took me 15 weeks to be seen!

Yes it's a shame they don't roll out a similar service for everything else. Despite knowing that I am a sex worker (anonymous) I have been treated with far more respect at gum than I have by any of the doctors /departments who don't know what I do for a living but see me regularly for longstanding conditions.

Where do you get mouth swabs? I've asked in 3 different GUMs and they've told me that given my sexual activities it wasn't warranted. I was even contemplating telling them I'd sucked some cock to get a swab.

Not all GUM clinics offer this to everyone as part of standard screening although there are quite a few that do from what I have heard. It is usually offered to sex workers and other high risk groups but again not always unless it is asked for which is silly if you are high risk. I would tell them pretty much anything if it meant that I got a higher level of screening so that may be the best way forward. Multiple partners both male and female and regular one night stands should make the swabs warranted.

So far as I am aware though, the risk of HIV via oral is only theoretical as nobody has ever been isolated as having contracted it from oral alone.

There has been a tiny amount of documented cases but studies have been limited and so the level of potential risk of transmission varies depending on the author. So yes at the present time the risk is theoretical and considered very low but that could change in time with further studies. I found this review interesting.

I do perform OWO but never CIM and although I consider the risk to myself to be extremely low although it is not impossible and for that reason, I do take additional precautions to minimise it further. Eg I do not brush my teeth an hour before and use a condom if I get an ulcer or sore or there was any type of open wound on him.  I also do not allow oral on me if I have any shaving nicks or sores down there and would never allow it during my period and ewwww (yes people do ask).

OW is mandatory for me, I already caught NSU before and it felt like pissing out battery acid. I don't want to go through that hell again. I don't take any chances punting plus I have a gf.

I know of a case where a WG caught Chlamydia orally.

I don't know what the transmission rates are for transmitting it back in that way.

Regular testing is recommended if you are having sex with different partners, or even the same one because you can never be sure what your partner is doing - and I'm sure the members here who's partners aren't aware of their activities are a great example of.

As a WG its obviously your responsibility to offer the services you do, if that bothered on safety or other grounds you can always refuse to offer it. If you dont really want to offer it as your post here implies but do so as you think you wont get enough punters by offering OW only then thats up to you.

From a safety aspect I would have chosen the ow route and stuck to it if there was any kind of market for it when I first started out. I am more than comfortable providing owo as I feel the risks involved are minimal but I have been very surprised that more clients do not seek ow. I have been doing this since sept and have only had one client request ow in all that time and when owo was off the menu for 6 weeks following tonsil surgery I found that I don't like the feel of ow and couldn't wait to get back to normal.

If there was suddenly a market for it then I might reconsider but would most likely stick with owo and I never thought I would hear myself say that.

I have found it makes no difference at all to work if I offer OWO or OW.  I offered OW for a few months when my immune system was very low and not one person complained (you just have to suck a little harder).  However I prefer to offer OWO as for me it tastes and feels better and doesn't make me gag like it does with a condom (providing the client is clean obviously).

No one should offer a service just because they think they wont get work if they don't as they will.  There are plenty of girls who don't offer OWO and they still get plenty of work regardless of where they are in the country.
