Aye man, had something lined up - that's blown it.

Thought it was usually a few days before these things came into effect, but not this time.

What's changed?

This hobby hasn't been allowed since the first lockdown.

The only difference now is if you get stopped by the police you need a reason to be out and about, and that's highly unlikely to happen.

My work allows me to travel during lockdown, maybe others might find it more awkward, but as long as you're not travelling too far from home you could always just be out at the shops.

Probably more chance of winning the lottery than getting stopped.

The Scottish police have already said they will only stop vehicles which are clearly not from the local area, they quoted a van with Sunderland logos on it which was stopped recently in Edinburgh, they have specifically stated that they will not be running number plate checks to see where cars are registered.

And as long as you have a valid reason to be out, in the remote chance you got stopped it wouldn't be an issue.

During the first lockdown, the number of green lights on AW dropped down to single figures in Glasgow, and those were mostly Roms. Don't expect the same again, most girls burnt through their savings during the first lockdown, I would suspect they can't afford not to work till May. Proof will be in the pudding as they say tomorrow, however I think some girls turn their green light on for the week, so next week might be more representative.

That being said, my regular girls never turn their green light on, we do all arrangements over the phone/text so there's always more girls working than might be apparent on AW.

Just make sure you keep a tin of beans in the car and if you get stopped you can explain you’re on your way to drop it into a city centre food bank.

Didn't know that - as you were then.

As you say, don't expect the girls to drop out the way they did first time round.

Excellent idea on the beans!

Actually, like a lot of people I carried a template letter from my employer stating my work required me to drive around the country but never had to use it, and this was only because I sometimes had to travel outside of the Glasgow area.

Whether or not I continue punting through this lockdown will be solely dependant upon whether I think the risk of catching COVID is too high, for me this is a much greater risk than getting stopped by the police. In fact, given I currently only see two or three girls who are very part time, the decision might be taken out of my hands if they decide to pause for a while.

Same boat, I did a wee bit punting in the Summer when everything was getting under control, but I'm not surprised it's all gone to hell through the Winter really, head down till Spring now I guess.

Nothings changed

Regulars still meet but needto use your own gaff or their incall location

The escorts with their own gaff are busy

Not true. Close contact personal services have been permitted to operate for some time.

Offline mickey1967

Not true. Close contact personal services have been permitted to operate for some time.

That depends on your definition of close contact services, for me there's a distinct difference between getting my haircut in a Covid secure salon and indulging in DFK with an SP. Adultwork seem to agree as you've not been able to book on the site since before the start of the pandemic.

My point was that today's announcement doesn't really change anything, we're in Tier 4 today which doesn't allow close contact services in any case, and lockdown tomorrow is much the same.

Offline scotland19something

this time it's a legal requirement nationwide lockdown like what is was back in march last year and now also down england nationwide lockdown

Happy to be corrected, but my understanding of the Tier 4 regulations on close contact services was that they were legally binding, ie hairdressers etc had to close, it wasn't optional.

What is changing overnight is the "stay at home" message is now being backed up in law.

I think technically, we still have an hour and a bit before lockdown restrictions hit, so... one last punt for me tonight! Might be the last time for a while... apparently lockdown to be reviewed at start of Feb but I'm sure this will last a good few months again.

No, it really doesn't.  The law is not defined by your personal interpretation of it.

Offline mickey1967

I beg to differ, but I'm going to bow out of this thread now, my original point was that seeing an SP yesterday was illegal, as it is today, it's just you're probably breaking two laws today rather than one.

Maybe if Nicola is reading this thread she could clarify if an SP is classed as close contact services  :)

Thanks.

Can't see visiting an SP on there, and massage therapies it ain't!

And the person providing the service must wear a mask at all times, yep, that applies to most bookings we all have.

I really am bowing out now, the Adultwork booking system has been down since the start of the pandemic which for me says it all.

That is guidance, not law. By law, close-contact services have been permitted to operate at various times in some tiers. The Scottish Government has not specifically excluded our area of interest from the definition but has specified a category of "other non-medical" close contact services into which it may be assumed to fit.

At the end of the day it’s impossible to police.
I have a get out of jail card from my employer and travelled a lot during the last lock down.
I passed the police multiple times, while I was well away from home. I wasn’t stopped once.

Take it all as guidance, assess the risk/reward based on your situation and make your own choices.
I didn’t punt during the last lockdown.
As I’ve had COVID, we’ll see what happens this time.

85 green lights on AW today, in Scotland.

Offline mickey1967

No obvious drop off in the green lights today as you say, and I am seeing one of my regs Thursday who rarely puts her green light on, so I suspect very few SP's in Glasgow are paying attention to the lockdown this time round.

In Glasgow

In anywhere.

I suspect like a lot of other businesses, first lockdown pushed them to the brink. To have another one and be faced with no earnings so soon after Xmas, most will not be able to cope with that.

Offline FBman78

I am surprised at the number of adverts available today, 52 in fact just for Glasgow, many more will not have advertised as available I suppose.  A vast number are British too.  It is too risky this time though cause the cops are out in numbers in Glasgow checking on people who have been complained about.

Saw one of my regulars today, that's exactly the position she's in. Burnt through her savings first lock down, simply can't afford not to work till April or whenever.

Not punted since March last year and it’s not looking good this year. My regs seem to have vanished or gone onlyfans and I’m not in the least interested in that

My regs, like most SP's stopped working for several months from March last year, but are now back. Difference now is they see less Clients, primarily because they can't use hotels, and never have their green lights on or advertise incall availability.
