Author Topic: How do you keep track of your active discussions/threads?  (Read 1158 times)

Offline zinger

Hi guys,

Quick one.. on most/all other forums, when I get a reply to a thread I am tracking/participating in, I get a notification in the top corner (like dreaded Facebook). But not here.

It's a pain having to remember threads to go and check them to see replies and respond.

What do guys do here?

Thanks

P.S. This is for all the guys out there who have outstanding questions to me in threads and staying up at night waiting for me to reply

Look in the top left under the UK Punting banner there are 3 links, the middle one says New replies, click that and it brings up a list of all threads that you have unread posts for  :hi:

....And if you are interested in a topic and don't post on it, ("Tracking" it, as you say), you wont see these appear when you hit the "New replies" button obviously.

In which case you may want to just make a quick comment on that thread, like "Hotlisted" or similar, so it appears under your "New replies".

no, don't do that - unless you want to be accused of  spamming

As Scutty says you can't ditch a thread once you post on it, I have exactly the same problem with the Worst escort picture thread  :vomit:

While the new replies link will bring the thread up if there has been a reply you don't actually need to open the thread so either just never open it or on the right hand side above the list of new replies click the link "mark all messages as read" and it wipes the list of any unopened threads, until some other fucker posts in it

Yeah cheers. Thought it was worth asking. Most threads die and not a problem but the videos thread is the gift that keeps on giving. Oh well. I'll cope.... :hi:

Tell me about it. There's loads of threads I'm no longer interested in but they keep appearing on my feed.

Oh week,. There's worse things in life..  :unknown:

The other way you can do it is proactive, you bookmark the thread (button top right of the thread). Especially useful for threads you’re interested in but might become dormant. I use it mostly for overseas threads with especially good info or for topics that particularly interest me for some reason or other.

Unlike ‘new replies’ you can also delete bookmarks, but any replies will supersede of course.

This is amazing.. loving the new found feature.

But it's so annoying I can't unwatch posts. I won't complain though..
