One of the ladies who works at Diamonds told me the police arrived unannounced last week.  Apparently there were several officers and they questioned the girls individually to make sure they were working of their own volition and weren't traficked.  They then asked them about the services they were providing.  As far as I know, nothing further has happened.

Don't they make regular visits to all such establishments?

They "turn a blind eye" to the fact that they are all technically brothels but do periodic checks to make sure the girls are safe, ie no aggressive punters, and that the girls are legit, ie not trafficked.

Additionally, they will visit if there's a report from a punter which could either be due to a genuine concern that a girl(s) is being coerced or a disgruntled punter who reports them maliciously.

She said there were eight officers and they stayed for several hours, which seems a bit heavy handed for a routine inspection.  She was laughing about having to explain why she was wearing such revealing lingerie to perform 'legitimate massages'!

Its routine.
About twice a year, altho several hours seems an exaggeration. They are looking for illigals and anybody forced into prostitution.police then send a health and safety report to fire officer, who then turns up to check smoke alarms and fire exits.a few of the older bristol parlours have been closed down due to the buildings having no windows or ventilation, also the girls arnt given lunch breaks or indeed any breaks where they can leave the buildings for an hour or so.some work 72hours back to back only allowed to pop in and out to the shop but not able to sit in the park for an hour.which personaly after having over half of what the client pays taken off you is pretty despicable.from £80 ur left with £25 for first client then £30 there after.
I left parlours a while back due to whitnessing the treatment of 1 girl who was very unwell but refused access to the walk in center.she was Romanian and the boss told her if she went she would find her bags chucked onto the street.i left that day.
