External Link/Members Only I have a regular conventional massage every month or so for therapeutic reasons (sore back, shoulder, neck, whatever) and occasionally go for a less conventional experiance. In this case, I did some homework using this site, and in spite of a recent neutral review, I decided to give Tina a visit at this place. The event was about a week ago.
Comms: Phoned ahead and slightly grumpy sounding woman told me that Tina was free, so I booked in. On arrival I knew in advance that there was a busy takeaway next door, but as I was wearing a facemask and not from the area, I looked in to see if they were watching me, but they looked busy as hell and had no interest in the outside world (Well, why would they? Who cares?)
The Place: Inside the building, what sounded like the same person I'd spoken to on the phone greeted me with a temperature-gun thing pointed at my forehead before giving me the ok. She was actually quite friendly so I think it was just a naturally low key telephone manner. Anyhow, I'd forgotten the price, but said I'd booked for 30 mins. I looked at the price list behind her on the wall, and didn't recognise any prices. What happened next threw me somewhat. Was asked 'You want private area massage?'. Private area? Where's that? Didn't remember anyone else mentioning a private area. I'd have thought all areas were 'private' in a place like this. New to the location, slightly nervous by now and head spinning, the penny dropped - she was asking about MY private area. I actually remembered something like this reported before, but had somehow forgotten and it took me by surprise, It wasn’t helped by the fact that I was asked in a very casual 'You want chips with that?' type manner in a thankfully empty reception area. No idea if the question is openly asked if anyone else is in earshot, but it was a bit odd. Total cost was £40 for 30mins + HE.
Inside the place itself was slightly strange. It was decorated like a very old persons house – patterned carpets, dralon settees, flowery covers etc, but it did seem very clean and tidy with a certain amount of cleaning going on.
The Girl/Meeting: Relieved that it wasn't all going to happen in public, Tina then came from somewhere out the back. Wearing a facemask like everyone else there, I couldn't really tell what she looked like facially, but thought she seemed to be smiling from her eyes – certainly very friendly anyway. Previous reviewer said she'd been on the pies, but she was looking in much better shape when I saw her.
On to the action and the massage itself was excellent. There seemed to be a certain way about her technique – like she massaged with real feeling, and it sorted me out as a proper massage always does. Slight downside, her English wasn't great and I had to speak a bit slowly when saying a couple of things. There was an occasional tickling type of technique throughout, then with 10 minutes to go, I was asked to turn over, where the HE was administered with same skill & apparent feeling as the massage. After a lengthy cleaning up process with paper towels, flannels and towels (I think. I was fully relaxed and eyes were mainly closed by now), I put my kit back on and led out, passing who I was told was Sophie on the stairs. Again, I couldn't really tell what she looked like due to the facemask, but she seemed to acknowledge and smile at me as we passed.
The facemask thing for everyone was a slight negitive of the whole experience – I’m not complaining or knocking the place, but I think it makes the whole thing slightly less personal and I think I should mention it - it’s just the way everything is for everyone now. I actually chose to keep mine on throughout, but I don’t know what happens if you ask to take it off.
Summary: Excellent. Really nice girl and very good VFM.
Would I return? Yes, one day – probably stay with Tina though may try Sophie.
