I think your username is quite apt.
Not shite. Respected motoring journalists have reported that Tesla's self driving is excessively "nervous" on European roads. For example, here is Harry Metcalfe, founder of Evo magazine, expressing disappointment with the nervousness of a Model 3 Performance. He's not some denier of BEVs, having, for example, run a Jaguar iPace for a year.
External Link/Members OnlyI believe the more autonomous self driving features on a Tesla are currently banned in Germany, and not available in the UK. It's not banned on a Mercedes, for example, because Mercedes applied for and were granted an exemption to the ban on autonomy on German roads.
Returning to the point of this thread, Mercedes are an interesting case. They just announced a new S Class, which will be available next year, and will offer Level 3 autonomy. That Level 3 autonomy will become available for sale later next year when a German law allowing Level 3 autonomy comes into effect.
In Europe Mercedes probably leads on self driving aids at the moment, and in America, GM's Cadillac, which has Super Cruise which uses 200,000 miles of Lidar maps made of American roads. On this basis Tesla is already behind on autonomy in both Europe and America.
