winkywanky please could you clarify some of these terms. It's tempting to be disingenuous and claim complete ignorance because I'm a real man and know nowt.
A trans woman is a man who is on hormones and dresses in drag. But what about surgery? And I don't know what a cis is. I could do the research but you and the Doc are a great source of information.
I can see you're rather old-school Roger

.
A Trans Woman was born a man and at some point, decided they'd be much more comfortable as a woman. They want to live as a woman, be a woman, be seen and regarded as a woman.
There are various points along that journey, which may or may not ultimately result in having the meat & two veg cut off, and having a vagina fashioned out of the original parts. Some Trans girls decide they like their bits and keep them. They remain as Pre-Op, ones that go the whole hog are Post-Op.
Points along the journey: dressing as a woman, wearing make-up, possibly falsies. At this point they'd be what most would consider a CD/Crossdresser, TV/Transvestite. Beyond that, taking female hormones and perhaps testosterone blockers, to feel and look more like a Cis-woman (ie born as a woman). Depending on when this hormonal transition starts, she may develop a pretty well full sized set of natural breasts, soft skin and a softer, more feminine voice without any affectation. If the transition is started mid-teens then there's a good chance of all of these.
Leaving it much later, and there'll be more body hair to deal with, more facial hair, a deeper voice, more manly face, bigger Adam's Apple etc. So for her to feel and be convincing there'll be courses of laser hair-removal treatment, larynx-shaving, breast implants etc, and possibly elocution and deportment lessons

IMO to simply call such a person - who's made all that effort to simply just feel right in their own skin -
a geezer in drag, is wide of the mark as well as downright unfair. But of course beauty, and even femininity, is in the eye of the beholder. Some Trans women are actually more feminine and more gorgeous than their Cis-female counterparts, by pretty well anyone's standards. Sometimes the only give-away is what's between their legs.
For guys that like to see TS girls, there are of course some horror stories about meeting a girl with stubble, caked in make-up and legs like a footballer. The other extreme is guys that only want to see a Cis-girl, and are horrified/discomfited/amused to find later on that they actually saw a Post_op Trans girl.
I actually don't understand it all myself, but from my personal POV it's quite fun finding out for myself. A fully-committed Trans girl is not simply a gay bloke in a frock at the weekends. I think that's fair to say. As for me, seeing Trans girls as well as Cis-girls...am I bisexual? I'd say I don't feel that way, I don't fancy blokes at all, not really even pretty ones. Other people can think what they like, it doesn't particularly bother me. What does piss me off is some of the comments (a lot less these days it has to be said

) that Johnny-big-bollocks UKP members make on Trans reviews, designed to wave their cock about and in some way 'prove' their masculinity. Idiots like that are worthy of derision in my view, and derision is what they get. But if it's not for you, and that's just not the way you see things then that's fine.
