I'm thinking about getting dental implants, once dentist's etc are operational again. Does anybody have any experience of these, I'd be very interested?
That's the only cosmetic surgery I'd consider. Has anybody had, or would consider anything else?

Probably wouldnt go abroad if i was you for any procedure, after a trip to budapest, my aunt ended up with false teeth, implants are a better option than orthodontics, do not under any circumstances have teeth removed, thats old school, and proven to be a bad option.

I have seen some work completed by a Turkish dentist, which was exceptionally good, however I'd be paying in the UK. It's to fill in missing or damaged teeth currently, i wouldn't have any removed :hi:

I dont think they can do an implant on a tooth that is missing,if it was originally extracted by a dentist.

I'm not going against what you say for the sake of it willie (you may think I am) but I know of a couple of people who went to Budapest and had a super job done by a brilliant young dentist who lectured at the local University.

Pre-visit comms were good and a treatment plan devised. Then two trips of around three days each, which doubled as holidays (Budapest is a beautiful city, full of hot birds incidentally) and the overall cost of the treatment including flights etc, was still under half what it would have cost here.

OP, I can provide details of the surgery concerned if you wish.

As for implants where there has previously been an extraction, what tends to happen is that the jawbone in the area recedes, so depending on how long ago the tooth was removed, a small bone graft may be required.

👆 yes please if you could forward a Web link or something that would be great. I had budgeted around £10k for the work, a 50% saving is worth investigating at the least.
Hopefully nothing would get lost in translation, I don't travel back with a set of DD's.....

The problem with any medical treatment abroad , is problems after treatment, as for the situation with a previously extracted tooth, i merely repeated what my dentist told me, bone grafts i imagine are a hard road you dont want to go down

This is from several years ago now, but if they're still going then I'd take that as a good sign.
