With last few days news on Covid (N England restrictions+keeping certain things like face treatments off the agenda at beauty salons, gyms still kept closed here, our rise in cases, Victoria in Australia massive spike, Europe spikes) no one could say opening saunas is a good idea.

Us doing well in Scotland is great but the only way to keep it that way is everyone trying to keep careful. The authorities surely must be likely to close saunas, probably in a storm of bad publicity.

I might be wrong but I suspect we’re in for more trouble in the next few weeks since pub opening.

I know we are all desperate to get back to it but maybe they should hold off as long as they can financially afford to. If they open up too soon we could end up with the authorities really cracking down on our hobby.

Went to NTS today and had a pleasant 30 minutes with Carmen (have written a review). Anastasia was in too, who I've seen before. I think in total they had two girls on the day shift and three in the evening. (That might be wrong though, or the numbers might go up soon.)

No contact tracing details required, but they took my temperature at the door with a handheld sensor, everyone wore masks indoors except in the room, and apparently they're cleaning the rooms thoroughly between each booking.

I'm looking forward to BSS opening too.

I actually walked past New Town late yesterday although I was just passing out of interest on the way to a work job. Seems like it’s had a bit of work done outside. A while back, he was quoted in The Scotsman as saying that he didn't keep them in the house, as they were too valuable. The figure in the 2013 press says they were worth £500,000, which makes them original paintings. Maybe he's got prints of them at home?

I had the same view as you for a long time, his habit of sitting in the lounge is disconcerting when you are used to the other saunas, but unlike the other sauna managements, he is quite expansive, and doesnt have their reserve and secrecy, and he is actually very easy going with his staff,  you can sit in the lounge and not feel like an intruder.

Didn’t mind so much his sitting in the lounge but the bombardment of personal questions such as what you do for a living etc, and not letting it go, very off putting. Also the lying on the phone, about having x amount of girls, turning up and there is only one or two Romanians. Is incredibly irritating of him

I was loitering on Easter Road on Sat Aug 8 waiting for a flat girl so I enquired at Carols,
there were 3 girls busy. Cabin boy had no mask, behind perspex so probably ok.
    I made my excuses & went home, stood up by my regular.
Scorpio was all shuttered up back then.

NTS - have phoned but there seems to only be one or two girls on at any time so I’ve not been back yet.

BSS - smaller number of girls when I’ve phoned. Went in last week to see a previously reviewed girl. Place was quiet. Had to wear a mask. Girl wore mask apart from during OWO. Was asked to leave a phone number at the desk so they got given my punting phone number.

Scorpio - seems to be 3-4 girls on when I’ve phoned but I’m not sure if that’s the usual story and you get there and there’s no one on. Not had a chance to actually go there yet but most of the names seem familiar from the pre lockdown days.

LSS - phoned out of interest and seemed to be a few girls on. Haven’t been to LSS for ages though. They did have a Vivienne and Darcy working when I called. Not sure if these were the girls that used to work in BSS and NTS respectively before lockdown so I might actually go there for the first time in ages.

Carols - Did think about going when it was the first sauna to reopen then realised that I’d rather chop off my nuts.

Overall feeling is that there’s not many girls on and I’ve still to get back into things properly. Seems like some of the usual names are back but some of the better performers seem to be missing/moved on. Alanna from NTS who’s now on AW going by the review thread would be a good example.

Hopefully they’ll stay open and the choice will start to improve a bit.
