Just wondering if anyone else is watching the latest series on BBC?
I find Alan Bennet's observations of characters from all classes and walks of life fascinating, but of course his monologues have to be interpreted and performed by a list of outstanding actors.
I've only watched the first one with Imelda Staunton, and was really impressed.
Her timing and expressions were a joy to watch and brought to life the character with a mixture of comedy and pathos.
No wonder his work is so highly regarded.
I'm looking forward to watching Jodie Comer perform. She must be chuffed to have been selected in such esteemed company.
