It's a Saturday, chav central and all the problems that will flow, I'm out!

Offline Malvolio

No - I'm going to go to several.  It's the one thing I've missed most in the last three months.

Offline Tyke1791

Nope, at that point I will be able to happily enjoy drinks, games, conversation and food with friends in the safety of our own homes and gardens.  I will be going to the movies if there's anything decent to watch on the big screen and perhaps a few restaurants for foods I can't readily prepare at home.

Offline paper7

No! However  'safe' the Government say it is, I'm still shielded at 'at high risk' so I ain't going nowhere! Besides, whether I feel like supporting local businesses or not, it takes money which I don't have.

Offline mr.bluesky

Nope. As Tyke1791 says too many restrictions and there will be too many idiots about. Now that the football (and hopefully soon Rugby) back on tv I would rather stop at home and drink. Cheaper too.  :drinks:

Nay, nay and thrice nay! A meal, prepared to a high standard by my own fair hand, a good bottle of red and Young Montalbano for me!

Possibly, if the weather is nice and a local buddy is up for a drive to one of the local gastropubs with decent gardens that welcome dogs.

Offline Adoniron

No chance. I'll leave it a few days until things settle down and then go to one where I can sit outside.

Its gonna go pear shaped - waiting ages to get served
Observing socialD will go outta the window when people have had a few
And this assumes that they are doing this in the 1st place  :dash:
The only question is how many times you are exposed to the virus that day

Absolutely fucking not!  :dash: :dash: :dash:

I agree with everything you've said there mate. It will be utter mayhem and I dont think people will even need to get pissed or even slightly tipsy for trouble to kick off. The service in my local Spoons is shite at the best of times and people get quite angsty. Imagine what it'll be like having to wait for even longer?  :unknown:
I tended to only go to the pub on a Sunday afternoon/evening anyways as it was quieter and all the weekend dickheads were probably still nursing their epic hangovers  :sarcastic:

Not much of a novelty for me really, East London has plenty of places which have takeaway pints and open air places to stand nearby, the only deterrent is the fucking cost (£6 a pint).

I saw somewhere that the Brewdog pub(s) in Manchester have said they will be opening at 1 minute past 12.

That bit is going to be interesting.

I will pop into my local to have a drink depending on how busy it is. I refuse to live in fear for the coming months and die like a pussy. Yes, safety is important and social distancing needs to be applied but I will NOT buy into media and tabloid scaremongering and nor am I diving into a moshpit.  :hi:

However you couldn't drag me into a Whetherspoons for month's :hi:

Mine too, the way he treated his staff was a total disgrace. I'm never setting foot in one of his pubs again!

We have a group of local 'socialites' who have to be the first to anything. I always discount their 'reviews' as I've learnt that they haven't a fucking clue what they're talking about.

Offline winkywanky

I've already been 'hitting the pub' for around 10 days now.

A couple of local pubs have large beer gardens or are situated on a village green, and have been taking Contactless payment at an impromptu outside kiosk, and then delivering the beer by way of a masked barman.

Offline winkywanky

I shan't be chancing going into a crowded bar yet though, even when we're technically allowed to.

I shall reassess the situation come the Autumn.

So in this case the 'Publicans' must've specifically asked Hertfordshire council, or whichever district council within, specifically for permission to open.
Probably got refused first time round, then pestered and pestered until the council granted it.
I suppose it depends how 'Tory' and Boris Johnson friendly the district council is, as to whether or not rules are adhered to, or bent, accordingly.
It wouldn't happen to be Broxbourne would it, your neck of the woods? With that total arrogant prick of an MP,  Charles Walker, as representative?

I would. I am fine generally but the one thing is I am extremely bored and need new environments.

I have no idea.

All I know is, I felt safe at all times and a strict protocol was observed.

I'm not going to tell you where this was for obvious reasons but no, it wasn't Broxbourne.

Pubs have been able to provide take away drinks and or food for some time if the premises licence includes 'off sales' (which most pubs do)

You cannot consume it on any external land which is part of the pub, but if there are no local restrictions in place on public land you may drink it on the streets or for example on a village green.

Yes, I've done this in several locations.  I also noticed recently there's several places in the centre of town offering it which means nearby parks and street corners were full of drinkers this week.

Some of the rougher pubs in East London have unfenced off beer gardens which means the regulars go there most days and drink cans of Stella or Fosters.

Offline l4at

I’ll go at some point I’m sure but I’m nowhere near desperate to go on the shitshow that’s gonna happen on the 4th.

It’s gonna be absolutely mental.

That's interesting, in the case of one of the two pubs I've been to recently, the Publican told us explicitly that we couldn't use his garden, but his frontage overlooks one end of the village green.

The other pub fully overlooks a village green (along with cricket pitch) just across a small road, which runs across the front. But we used a strip of grass to the side of the pub, on its side of the road. But it's just occurred to me that this is probably public land. His little 'kiosk' which he set up to serve the beer from is right in front of that strip of grass. He'd obviously thought this through regarding the rules you've highlighted there Doc.

Nah.

Have never been a big pub drinker. I'll just be glad to get back to my caravan in North Wales on July 13th.

Offline Simmo87

Nope, I will be waiting several weeks for rush of idiots to dies down, Ive still not been for a Maccys yet as I refuse to que 45m at my local dive through.

The only thing Im waiting for is a return to punting.

Offline David50

Definitely not as they will be full with no sign of any social distancing as landlords are not going to bother providing they take in the takings

Offline cultvoid

My locals are all broadcasting their ‘COVID secure’ precautions. They are all planning:

Advance bookings only
Two hour slots
Groups of 2 plus only (so single people aren’t table blocking)
ID gathered and stored in a GDPR secure manner

One pub, a micro pub is also going to measure temperatures of all customers.

I’ve been counting the days till I can get back to the pub. With all of the above, no fucking way. And whatever the initial rush might be, they will be soon empty as long as all that bollocks persists.
