Discussed a while back Finchy.

I still stand by Fury doing it fairly easily, I can't see Joshua, nor anyone else for that matter, beating him unless he gets in a really clean shot.

depends on when the pubs reopen in Morecambe
Fury and his family are pissheads and he needs to stay off the booze to win

You're surely not suggesting that they're conforming to any kind of stereotype?

AJ has a better chance than Wilder but Fury beats him 9/10.  Didn't see his rematch with Ruiz, but he's been buzzed in his previous few fights and looked ropey against smaller, older men.

Offline Chorley

Perhaps contorversial, but I think AJ is massively overhyped and is at best an average boxer with great promotion and media management. Fury all the way. After that Wilder fight he must feel indestructable. :yahoo:

sometimes stereotypes can also be realities.........

references to it seem to have vanished from Google, but his brother got busted last year for drink driving after a 15 mile chase near Kirkby Lonsdale.................allegedly at 15mph.
As far as I can remember he went to jail

He just looks like he's a man-mountain, like he was born to do it.

Although he surely must, he doesn't even particularly look to me like he trains, little muscle definition, and his muscles don't 'bulge' like most boxers.

Apart from his sheer overall size, he doesn't look like a worldclass boxer. Strange.

Offline Beamer

It's a no contest and purely set up for the financial benefit to boxers and promoter.
Will AJ last 4 rounds? Only if it's part of the deal. He (Fury) seems to be unbeatable (and unbearable!)

The Gypsy King also told the interviewers that he had had a dream about similar events the night before the match. “I’ve got this inner ability, sort of. I dream and becomes a reality for some reason, I don’t know why. Sometimes I dream about things and it actually happens, and I prepare for that.”

Perhaps he read it in the tea-leaves?  :unknown:

He's a gypsy, so he's hard as fuck by default and has been brought up in a culture of fighting that goes way back. And as you say, he's an absolute unit which kind of helps when the other fellas trying to knock you into next week. :D

Offline Malvolio

You'd have to back Fury after watching the real beating he handed out to Wilder.  If Klitschko couldn't work out how to box a bloke bigger than him, I don't think Joshua will.

not sure wilder had beaten anyone ranked in the top 100 rated boxers of all time
got to give fury the edge
joshua is very average
watching ali on youtube when he was young was incredible, the speed blistering
he had everything, chin ,courage, the best ever
the big plodders today wouldn't have touched him

I used to think that Fury was an absolute Bell End
There was a 3 part series on ITV recently where Fury openly talked about his problems with depression & alcohol, I think for a person in his position & social upbringing that took some real guts & I have a new found respect.

I think he'll destroy AJ

Ruiz Jr?  He was hardly a chiseled god, just a good chin and loads of technique, made AJ look amatuer in the first fight, especially when AJ was returning to his corner asking his trainer what was happenig to him

Offline kippydon

i would go for AJ .just think over all he is a better boxer. this fight may not happen yet, they both need to beat the other guys for this to happen

on the news they saying May Next year for the first fight , it is a 2 fight deal, so venues still to be decided, they muting  Saudi or LA, whuch to me does not make sense ,needs to be in the UK, but i am afraid money talks

Tyson Fury and it's not even close.

Don't get me wrong, Joshua is competent, but I believe that Fury has an inner fire that always seems to see him through. Also, Fury has a very unconventional boxing style and I don't think Joshua will know how to combat against it. Very few can.

Saw the Youtube link that was posted up earlier in the thread.

For a very big guy, Fury has frighteningly fast hands.

Fury is extremely fast for his size, yes. The only thing he lacks is a good knock out punch. If he had a more devastating hit he truly would be close to being unstoppable.

I find Fury more of serious and heart on fist fighter...
Joshua in my eyes quit against the fat Mexican .. was very disrespectful in his pre fight build up with his first fight with Ruiz taking an entourage with him.. first sign not taking fight seriously... and it showed....

I want Fury to win as i find Joshua too fucken cocky and hate the way he disrespects the legend of British boxing Lennox Lewis one of the all time greats in the heavyweight division.. (and better than Mike Tyson)

Fury for me.  He's a natural boxer and for a big man is deceptively quick, he has proven he can go the distance.  Nothing against AJ but I think if this fight does take place and he loses it might be hard for him to make get a big card again

Offline sub_marine

Joshua likes to go steady for a few rounds to size out the opponent, then all of a sudden unleash a torrent of punches while moving forward getting the opponent on the back foot retreating, very few fighters can deal with this.  Thats basically his only technique, its worked till he met the fat Mexican.  In the first Ruiz Jr fight, Ruiz just took the first couple of blows and stood his ground the countered on the inside, AJ had no idea what was happening to him, he just kept trying the same rushing technique that has worked his whole career, but Ruiz was solid and knew if he could get on the inside he would win.

Fury is very knowledgeabe about his opponents, and boxxing history in general.  He doesnt have to ask his corner whats going on in the ring, and he can switch it up as he goes and is very unique in his style with so much faints, it tires out an opponent just keeping up with the faints , he breaks them down mentally, waiting for an oppertunity.  Every attack will be slightly different, calculating all the time whats working and what isnt.

Will be a good fight, but Fury will take the win, and all the belts + lineal title.  Imagine bookies will have Fury down as favourite as well

In my eyes, I think it would take a fully fledged miracle for Fury, not to lose. This guy has longer reach, better style. Better defence. And the way he demolished Wilder in the last fight. He now is the complete fighter.

To be honest, the fight I honestly cannot wait to see is Mike Tysons charity bout. Both this and Top Gun 2 are the two things I am most interested in seeing happen this year.

*Edit* Have I said that right, Fury is going to win, better put.

Lewis, back in the day, would whip that chump inside 2 rounds. K.O.

I think something was seriously off with Joshua. He just didnt look right or up for it. There was some speculation that he'd sufffered a concussioin in sparring prior to the fight which was then exacerbated during the bout?  :unknown:

Fury I hope. He’s entertaining at press conferences! He worked miracles losing so much weight but I expect I could lose 10 stone if I had the carrot of millions and millions of pounds dangled in front of me and I was a 6ft 7 giant who could fight anyone  anyway. Joshua too politically correct all the time. Let’s have entertainment like we used too. Fuck me bbc even pulled the German episode of Fawlty towers now as might upset people. They should ban every episode then as he picked on the Spanish waiter. All bollocks!

Thing is, AJ is a boxer, who has been taught the art of pugilism.

TF is a brawler/fighter who has been scrapping all his life because of the culture he was brought up in.

To me, there is no contest.

It won't be pretty, but TF will just destroy AJ, possibly ending his career.

Just my 3 penny's worth.

It seems Dillian Whyte isn't happy about this and who can blame him really?

The man has been no.1 contender for around 3 years now and constantly been dodged, mainly by Wilder to be fair. It's time the WBC got their house in order, they were regarded as the premium division but are looking increasingly farcical.

He ducked Ortiz and keeps testing positive for juice ("cleared" the last time).  He's handy but lacks stamina and technique.  Also got real lucky against Parker.  Another few seconds and he was done.

I'm not saying I'm a particular fan but he's had the standing for a considerable length of time. Regardless of the testing results he has been cleared to fight, I suppose that's a seperate discussion, and it's well overdue he got his chance.

Yes I know he turned down Joshua before he fought Ruiz due to a disrespectful offer and that's possibly his biggest fault as he isn't the man.
