The government is thinking of giving BNO passports to 2.9 million Hong Kong residents, and then removing the UK residence restrictions.
Where would you put them?? Where would you employ them? How would you get them here?
Potentially the worlds biggest peace-time migration

And this just shows everything Trump was saying about China is 100%. And yet everyone went insane accusing him, and anyone else, of pointing out China's many misdeeds is being racist.

This just shows. It's an abhorrent dictatorship of a government. Not as bad as, but on the same playing sheet as North Korea.

In terms of where would we house them. I do not know the logistics or feasibility of this. But the UK owns many areas around the globe - Gibraltar, the Falkland Islands for example.

If its a mass migration. Maybe resettle them to one of those areas?

Or just simply deny all regular immigration/Asylum from this moment on from the middle east, send everyone back home who has arrived here from there already illegally, and switch it to HK migrants and allow them to settle here in those now free accomodation (that probably won't go down well with many Labour MPs though).

Very good idea. They're halfway to being British anyway.

They're a bunch of enterprising people. Grafters. Strong on family values. Law abiding. Kids do well at school. They mind their own business. Great cuisine.

I suspect the drain on the state would be comparatively small too. They're not mad keen on religion, so we wouldn't be seeing the equivalent of mosques springing up everywhere.

What's not to like?

true  they will probably contribute more to our society than those trying to get into the country crossing the channel from France

As others have said, I would welcome them. In terms of our future prosperity, like adding a second City of London to our GDP. And it would serve China right to lose many of their best and brightest.

According to the 2020 records. Hong Kong has the joint highest average IQ of the world with an average IQ of 108.

We are in 11th place with an average of 100

External Link/Members Only

From the chart, Somalia, who we have considerable immigration from currently, has a countrywide average IQ of 68.

And if you remember Forrest Gump, he had an IQ of 75 and was classed as retarded and unable to receive any state education (his mother had to have sex with the principal to allow him to attend as you needed an IQ of at least 80 to attend a regular state school and not a special school).

Pointing out these facts gets many people irate and baying for blood. But Hong Kong migration would be much better for the UK. And provide many more doctors, engineers and nurses than what is currently provided/claimed about the current migrant system of people from the likes of Somalia.

Agree. My experience of Hong Kong Chinese has been very positive.

Very positive in so many areas. We had 3 or 4 last year employed as holiday jobs. They were brilliant.

I agree with the principle of bringing them here, but thats a heck of a lot of new housing needed - even if we could find the land, I doubt we'd have the materials resources

Potentially 1.5 million females. I think that we could accommodate more massage places, especially in my neck of the woods.

Forrest Gump was a work of fiction.  The movie is a film adaptation of the book "Forrest Gump" by Winston Groom.

I said Forrest Gump so people had an idea of what an IQ of 75 was like. The part about needing at least an 80 IQ to attend regular schools is not fiction.

"To be diagnosed as having mental retardation, a person must have an I.Q. below 70-75, i.e. significantly below average. If a person scores below 70 on a properly administered and scored I.Q. test, he or she is in the bottom 2 percent of the population and meets the first condition necessary to be defined as having mental retardation."

Less than 6% of the UK is built upon, and 2.5% of that <6% is green space in urban areas.

The arrival of the Chinese has significantly improved the academic results of fettes college in Edinburgh , alma mater of tony blair, if 3 million arrived they would transform England, quickly dominating medicine, accountancy etc, if that is what you wish?

As someone who has lived in HK, I can tell you the vast majority are hardworking law abiding people, but watch the Triads. Pity we could not swap them for the work shy who have sat on the dole for years,

[Chinese] Foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the UK and China had agreed that holders of British National (Overseas) - or BNO - passports should not enjoy UK residency.

"All such BNO passport holders are Chinese nationals and if the UK insists on changing this practice it will not only violate its own stance but also international law," he added.

A bit rich, coming from China . They're riding roughshod over the agreements China made with the UK when we left HK, and no, these moves made by the UK are NOT illegal. So he can fuck off  :hi:. If they want to make life so uncomfortable for HK residents that they would want to leave for UK shores, tough shit, and of course he realises the best minds will want to leave, and possibly start a HK brain-drain .

Added bonus is that I find ethnic Chinese chicks pretty hot.

So long as we choose the right ones for our own benefit (as well as their own), we could end up with a bright, young enterprising influx of well-educated youngsters, keen to get on.

I wonder if Cummings had anything to do with this?  :D Who knows, perhaps they're more Coronavirus-resistant compared with us too :unknown:

No matter what country you visit there is a subclass , statistically they are irrelevant, perhaps we have more than other countries as we have a welfare state that enervates and infantilises, however I personally have no wish to have 3 million foreigners who have a history of non integration arriving here. I imagine the gambling firms will be well pleased

Another thing to consider: once China have done their ugly thing with HK, Taiwan will be next on the list of 'stuff' they want to take back.

That will be very interesting. I wonder what our reaction will be in the West? Hmmm.

Islam is a slowly growing religion in Taiwan and it represents about 0.3% of the population. There are around 60,000 Muslims in Taiwan, in which about 90% belong to the Hui ethnic group.

There is no doubt that they will contribute to the economy big time, but will they make life better for those already here? Given englands unhappy experience with immigration, you might pause and reflect,

With total population of c24m that's about twice the size of the city where our current crisis allegedly started. Their armed forces cant be that big unless they have two jobs , the second one making consumables?

But why are we unhappy about Immigration?

For decades we had large numbers of Caribbean, Sikh and Jewish people all immigrate to here and nobody cared less. Everyone was happy and if you asked anyone they were fine with it.

It's only been since large numbers of Islamic immigration has been occurring since the 2000s and all the problems that has caused have people been saying, hang on one second, we need to stop this.

Its all well and good praising the labour of high IQ immigrants but they will be competing for the same jobs and houses that you lot are,  if they come over here.

Overpopulation reduces quality of life for all.

Not many would come to UK, many have dual nationality anyway. It's too little too late as usual for the UK government and they really are just point scoring against the communist government. The UK government could have offered some sort of protection for the people of HK way before the handover but they didn't, the Portuguese did for the people of Macau. Vast majority of Hong Kong people don't have a problem with China, all the protest now are students protesting and hoping to destabilise HK for other reasons. The western media is not painting a true picture of what's happening in HK nor is Raab.

A million people took to the streets per-pandemic, old and young, families and children.
The people of HK have more freedom and better life than the Chinese over the border and they want to keep it. The Chinese government are breaking the 50 year agreement, 1 country, 2 systems and the majority of locals don’t support it.
The HK people do not like the mainland Chinese people, it is a cultural thing, you can spot the difference between them a mile away.

Offline tintin100

Really a million ? Or is that western media at work. Hong Kong people have accepted that they are part of China now. As I said why didn't the UK government offered the same protection the Portugese did to Macua ? The horse has bolted now. A bit too late for window dressing.
