Author Topic: Safe(r) sex after lockdown but Covid 19 is still around  (Read 4759 times)

Offline donnybob

Trying to think about this logically

No one is going to be totally safe until a vaccine is created and thats still a year or so away

So after lockdown will there be a safe way of meeting?

We know the virus is in saliva, hence the current story about mask wearing

So kissing is out, oral either way is also out.

So how about reverse cowgirl?

Offline winkywanky

From where I'm standing, seeing a WG will still carry the risks of:

Incall: other punters will have been and gone, and left their fingerprints on doorhandles, hard surfaces, bathroom taps etc.

Likewise, their saliva/mucus droplets will be on all surfaces.

They'll have had intimate contact with the WG, even if no kissing.

I think it's safe to say that just being with a WG in her own environment, means that if she has Covid-19, you will be exposed to it, and in a big amount (the viral load thing).

For Outcall: some of the above won't apply, but she'll probably be coming from her own place where all of the above do apply.

Even if new rules allow it at some future point, if CV is still around to any degree, going on a punt will effectively mean you come into intimate contact with all the other punters that WG has seen in the previous week or so, even if she doesn't display any symptoms.

Well observed
Same as before other than that the nasties we are all used to, but won't kill you
Well apart from the big one, which is difficult to catch
Gonna take a lot of will power

One thing that seems to be missed is that reference is made to the virus being spread when people cough or sneeze
Add in when they speak & err ... breathe
So some hooker doing fake panting building up to a fake orgasm is a dead cert to spread it, if she has it

I think that the risk will be there to some degree until it has been totally wiped out or a vaccine has been developed.

Just because the lockdown may be lifted doesn’t mean that the virus may not be about still.

So like anyone else I think it will be about weighing up the risk and what your willing to accept

Online webpunter

The virus will be around somewhere in the world for donkeys ages
For people to be [relatively] safe both a vaccine & drugs to treat it are needed

Lifting lockdown is an economic measure
The Govt faces a stark choice - number of deaths from the virus versus how much damage is done to the economy
Already commentary about additional deaths from other diseases not being treated

I think that the risk will be there to some degree until it has been totally wiped out or a vaccine has been developed.

I'm pretty damned sure a bare blowjob would definitely pass on Covid-19, either way.

The end of your nob is mucus membrane.

The mouth can give or receive virus.

Which theoretically makes it an easier barrier for a virus to transmit across, but it is likely to remain just that ie a theoretical pathway of virus ingress into the body, especially as this is a respiratory virus. It is currently not considered to be sexually transmitted. The lining of the nose and the eyes are likely to be the main ingress areas.

There is currently no evidence that the virus is found in sexual secretions including semen but that could change. From memory I think either Sars 1 and Mers or both were present in semen though? Wearing a condom for oral sex would be advisable though at this stage.

It has been found in faecal material though.

Some good general advice here on the subject. Wanking is king  :D External Link/Members Only

Doc...you are a Doc. I am not. You know 100x what I know of medical stuff.

However...a WG with Covid-19 sucks your bare mucus membrane for 15mins.

A good chance of transmission under those circumstances?  :unknown:

If my memory serves me correctly Ebola is found in semen up to some weeks after recovery.

Having read a basic guide to viruses, I don't quite think it works that way.

Viruses target specific cells, this one is headed for respiratory tract via ingestion through airways.

Upon checking Sars1 has not been reported as present in Semen and I don't think Mers has either? I should have checked before posting and not relied on my ageing grey cells.  :D

Zika is another one that has been found in semen as well as the usual suspects HIV and Hepatitis B

At the end of the day,you will probably run the same risk going to work in an office block ,where bugs and viruses are rife because of air conditioning.

Yes there is risk with a WG for the above reasons, but there will be risk everywhere.

If you are that frightened of getting it,the only way is to give up punting, and probably a lot of other things as well, such as sports events, gigs ,nightclubs, meals out.

I would take the chance in my home county ,where there has been hardly any cases, but London, hmmm,i may not take the chance there.

Soho walkups will be a thing of the past for me i think.

Been thinking about it and I think I'd be willing to try to get back to normal punting wise from July, providing there has been a significant reduction in cases by that point. Otherwise you might as well swear it off completely and become celibate until and if a successful vaccine is found and I'm not sure I want to carry on like that. Equally I'm not sure punting would hold the same attraction for me to part with my cash if there is a reduction in services such as OWO and DFK across the board due to virus concerns.

I live alone and have no children so the risk of me transmitting to family is extremely low and I'm likely to carry on working from home for another 6 months at least anyway. If I get it then that's the risk I take, if I don't survive it then again it's my own fault and I accept that. Without sex (and punting is really the only way I'm getting any of that now) I'm not sure I can be arsed carrying on anyway, most of the fun will have taken away in a world where you can't travel, fuck multiple people or move about with any kind of freedom.

Loads will disagree but that's my feelings on it. I can't live like a saint in fear of what may happen...

I've seen some comments on here saying massage shops will soon reopen but staff will wear masks.  Hardly make any difference really.

Some massage shops are actually open at the moment, I really do wonder who is visiting them.

Could be said that punting after lockdown is more risky than barebacking pre corona.

Maybe a similar chance of getting mild symptoms as a sti, both obviously non fatal, however much more chance of dying from corona than hiv.

Only guesswork obviously but I'm out until a vaccine is found.

According to one study, not yet peer reviewed, 33% of those admitted to hospital in the UK with C19 died.

I've read that aggravating risk factors include being male, being middle aged or older, and being obese.

Middle aged or older, male, overweight. I bet that describes many punters.

Quote from: The Guardian
A third of patients admitted to hospital in the UK with Covid-19 are dying, according to a major study whose authors said the observed death rates put the illness on a par with Ebola.

The study tracked the outcomes of nearly 17,000 patients – around one-third of all those admitted to hospital in the UK – and found that 33% had died, 49% were discharged and 17% were still receiving treatment after two weeks.

The figures present a stark picture of outcomes for those whose illness escalates to the point of needing medical help.
...
“People need to hear this and get it into their heads,” [Calum Semple - chief investigator of the study] added. “The reason the government is keen to keep people to stay at home until the outbreak is quietening down is because this is an incredibly dangerous disease.”
...
The study also revealed more about which groups are most vulnerable, with men being more likely to be admitted to ICU and more likely to die, with differences becoming more striking in older age groups. The most significant health risk factor was obesity, increasing risk of death by 37% – a greater amount than heart disease (31%), lung disease (19%) or kidney disease (25%)

Yeh every individual will have to do their own personal risk assesment.  If your male , middle aged or older and obese , maybe a smoker as well then your dicing with death. If your otherwise young and healthy then theres a lot to be said for simply backing your bodies natural capacity to combat the virus.

Even if you are young and healthy, you will need to balance a half hour's pleasure against the potential for two weeks of agony.  For those that missed it, I strongly recommend last night's C4 programe "What's It Like to Catch Coronovirus?".

The vaccine is an interesting point...those confident words from that Lab in Oxford about a good chance of having a workable vaccine by Sept, and perhaps advance supplies of it being prepared in anticipation of it being acceptable.

While at the same time, the official govt line that a vaccine wouldn't be available until the middle of next year at least.

All very frustrating  :(.

No as a shielded punter I would expect to be fairly top of the list for vaccine. The major problems is the over 60s and those with long term health issues, get them immunised and you remove 99% if the death rate. This would ease pressure and worries in the NHS  and care workers immediately.

Apologies if this has been covered but, hypothetically, if you both wear a mask and gloves with covered sex, how much of a risk is that ?

While there is no clinical study clearly, if you are very close to someone for 15 minutes, and one has Covid19, it is highly probable that the other will have it after the encounter.  As waterborne viruses go, this one seems pretty contagious.  Can't put a number on it without data, but as a common sense starting point, call it 50/50.

But only about 1% of escorts probably will have it.  I for one may risk it as soon as it is legal to do so. Still pondering.  More likely to go to a part time escort I know then a visit to an 8 punters a day girl.

I doubt if I have any more idea than you do, but that's a figure plucked out of thin air if ever there was.

If someone can be symptom-free for a week then that means a WG has quite possibly been intimately exposed to 15-30 guys during that time, each one of them bearing their own risk factors.

It’s just another potential risk we face going forwards until a cure is found. 26,000 people are killed or seriously injured on roads 42,000 die of heart attacks, 35000 lung cancer.

None of these figures stop me using the roads, stop smoking or make me exercise more.

We all evaluate what we think are acceptable risks...

So like punting it’s going to continue and increase as people think that the risk to them is at an acceptable level and it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks really..

Yes i forgot to say 'call it' before that clearly made up number.  My apologies.  But I suggest it is possible number.  (165K total cases.  Many recovered e.g. boris.)  It should be more like 1% than 10% or 50%.  And of course the escort needs to be symptom free on the day.  This hobby is not risk free.  Still pondering what I will do though.

The big difference being of course, that the choices we make around Coronavirus don't just impact on ourselves, they impact on all the other people we come into contact with.

And we all make our own decisions with that in mind, as well as our own individual situations. Or at least we should if we wish to make informed decisions.
