wilkos and most places discontinued
amazon prices a piss take
tried to buy masks on there at reasonable price
the delivery charge was 35 pounds
many thanks
Went into my local Wilkos a week or so ago, and the garden section looked like the toilet roll shelves in the supermarkets at the start of lockdown. Either everybody has been hoarding gardening stuff, or they have decided not to restock.
There was a TV programme about Amazon a day or two ago, putting right a couple of deluded saps who thought Amazon was good value. If I find an item I want on Amazon, I can almost always find the same item available cheaper on ebay, often from the same supplier, when the delivery charge is factored in. Amazon is a bit like Tescos, they offer the convenience of having everything you want, but they are certainly not the cheapest. (As an aside, my local Tescos has lots of signs up saying "Price Matched with Aldi". I remember when stores used to price-match against Tesco).
Worth checking your local garden centres, especially the non-chain ones. My local garden centre has closed to visitors, but is now offering free delivery within its local area. No on-line ordering, you have to phone up and actually talk to someone. Not as cheap as Wilkos, but certainly not extortionate.
