Have seen it in sainsburys, wilkinsons, waitrose ... though whether at a reasonable price is not for me to say.

Just saw a headline that said b&q is reopening.

B&q website says they have several stores open in london ... so no need to order online. Of course,  no guarantee they will have what you want in stock.

Not sure about London but many smaller garden centres around the country are doing deliveries, might be worth a google search.

Just had 5 bags delivered from my local garden centre. They are inundated with orders for bedding and compost.

Went into my local Wilkos a week or so ago, and the garden section looked like the toilet roll shelves in the supermarkets at the start of lockdown.  Either everybody has been hoarding gardening stuff, or they have decided not to restock.

There was a TV programme about Amazon a day or two ago, putting right a couple of deluded saps who thought Amazon was good value.   If I find an item I want on Amazon, I can almost always find the same item available cheaper on ebay, often from the same supplier, when the delivery charge is factored in.  Amazon is a bit like Tescos, they offer the convenience of having everything you want, but they are certainly not the cheapest.  (As an aside, my local Tescos has lots of signs up saying "Price Matched with Aldi". I remember when stores used to price-match against Tesco).

Worth checking your local garden centres, especially the non-chain ones.  My local garden centre has closed to visitors, but is now offering free delivery within its local area.  No on-line ordering, you have to phone up and actually talk to someone.  Not as cheap as Wilkos, but certainly not extortionate.

I think that is broadly true but not always and I generally check both in addition to many other online sources.

A couple of weeks ago I was looking for lawn fertiliser. I sourced this last year on Amazon so I went to my account and clicked 'buy again' from the same supplier and it was just over double the price! I eventually found a much better price from another online store (not amazon or ebay) but still more expensive than what I paid last year.

Out of curiosity I went into my order history for 2019 and kept selecting 'buy again' for a variety of things I had purchased. A couple of items where showing as roughly the same price and some no longer available, but the majority where also hugely more expensive than last year. Quite scary.

I buy a lot of books , I found one last week listed by a specialist secondhand book company who also list on Amazon and eBay, I bought the book on Amazon for the lowest price. delivery included, within minutes the listing on their own site and eBay were showing out of stock, It pays to shop around.

It's Bengali.

I could hazard a guess but perhaps it's best if Xtro answers you second question.

The point is, you can hear all sorts of languages being spoken in and around the UK.
Brick Lane/Whitechapel is heavily populated with a Bengali community.
There are a few good curry houses in the area, Lahore Kebab House and Tayab are 2 good examples.

Shit and some far eastern/ asian all sounds the same.

I thought it was quite funny, as usual the snowflakes want to be offended on somebody else's behalf.

I could have chosen any from a 100 + languages.  :dash: :dash:

I note that you did not get upset by the Northener digging at a Southerner......

But that would be because you are an immigrant and  wanted to be offended by the joke.

People can talk shit in any language, naming one, any one, that isn't native to this country gives it a whole different meaning.

Who is it you are calling an immigrant.   :unknown:

My point was, Blackpool said Londoners talk shit. My response was in effect Londoners do not talk shit, he must have heard someone talking in urdu. meaning it was not a Londoner...... follow me??

beamer being an immigrant decided to get offended.

He was quite happy to ignore to the Northerner, Southener  banter. but instantly wanted to comment on what he thinks was an attack on him by proxy.

Blackpool also said "Please don't be offended as it was intended purely as a joke". I don't know why you had to comment. Also it's up to him what he finds offensive and what he chooses to ignore.

To question anyone's ethnicity is IMO racist.

How the fuck is questioning someone's ethnicity racist???  I have heard it all now.

It's not up to you what offends another person. You are the one who brought an Asian language into it. You then accuse a member of being an immigrant with no knowledge of the truth of that statement.

You could've quite easily made your 'joke' without stipulating an Asian language. Why should you see a difference between immigrants and those born here. Why should it not be possible for someone born in London to speak English and the native language of their parents.

That's exactly the point  :dash: :dash:

Being born in London does not make you a Londoner.
Being born in England does not make you English.

We could go on and on. Feel free to insert a City and then a County of your choice.

BTW if beamer is English then I'm the fucking Pope.

You just assumed that beamer was an immigrant, ive read posts of his before that would suggest hes definately an englishman ( an annoying one granted). Not that it matters except to you and people like you i guess. Guess what those prozzies you visit also get visited by non white englishmen. See you do have something in common with immigrants for all we know Suzy was diddled by abdul before you had a go that day.

Born in England and you are English and a British citizen. If you are born in London you are a Londoner, as in you originated in London. You would even be a cockney if born in the right part.

Don't confuse Nationality with ethnic origin otherwise I might think you are showing just how racist you are.
