With no barbers open, or likely to open in the coming weeks or months, a lot of the male population is now turning to cutting their own hair

A lot of clippers are now being sold, and possibly for the first time, your hair will be cut very short, almost skinhead like

My hair is currently needing to be cut, so looks like I will end up doing this myself, in the coming weeks. Have already seen some crackers, where the person has cut there own hair, and used the wrong setting, so ended up with a proper skinhead

How many here need a haircut, and would you attempt to do this yourself

I last had a haircut in December so don't need one until July/august

I’m quite enjoying letting mine grow out now.

In normal time, I have an expectation to be respectable so now I can grow it out. Have wanted to for ages to see what it turns out like

However long it gets. I will never have it in a pony tail though or man bun like Gareth Bale

My hair will start looking pretty silly soon, with my burgeoning male pattern baldness.

So just as that point of ridicule approaches, it'll be a self-administered, badly-applied no.4 all over for me

I have had mine down to the wood for years in fact since I joined the RAF, no never used brylcream or anything else . A women has never cut my hair and barbers are such places I have not been for years. Today's ronsorial artists are too posh and imposing for me hate being frigged about an arty farty Jeremy.

I have a Babyliss rotary cutter had for ten years a bit of gun oil on and it's brilliant and all done myself a No 1 every other week. Won't ask sour face to do it anyway and I can shave my neck with two mirrors.

Got a set of clippers last week and let the wife loose. Nothing fancy -just went no2 all over but it looks surprisingly good

Got my haircut no1 a couple of weeks before lockdown so ok until about July, will be buying some clippers and doing it myself after that.

I got a set of Wahl 230V clippers years ago, used to go no3 on the top and just the blades round my beard every 4 weeks or so, started going bald early 20s so never had a hair style. Once I hit 30 I decided to grow my beard a bit longer and instead of just cutting it off every month, went to a barbers to get it shaped, cos thats impossible to do myself using a mirror. Nowadays I like to trim whats left on top right down to the wood and keep a 6" beard, I find the white supremacist look makes me look a bit more intimidating, especially with black sunglasses.

Also got a set of battery Wahl clippers a few years ago as if you visit a country with 60Hz mains supply, its too fast for the mains clippers which are designed for 50Hz electric, hence the blade doesn't have time to achive the full stroke in each direction, so feels like the clippers are ripping your hair out instead of trimming it. No problem charging the battery off of any type of supply, and get about 5 cuts per charge

My hair is layered (cut in different lengths) to bring out the curl and shape. This morning armed with thick paper cutting scissors, a hair elastic tie, and a pair of precise hair cutting scissors with a finger curl I have managed to give hair a self-trim. Still needs to dry off a little, but seems ok and feels lighter.

I've had the same set of clippers 20 odd years, Remington, rechargeable, with a ceramic blade. The charger cable broke a few years ago, but an old phone charger does the trick.

Take the easy way out - I think a short clippered style would suit you well.

I have been tempted I did shave my head twenty years ago mixed reactions, and since it takes a while to grow to current length which I really enjoy - I don't want to start again.

Would short-strawberryblonde still be viable?

Only you can know what your customers like, but personally I'd prefer it. But that's just my taste - don't take my word for it

Short hair on a girl can look good. Long hair on a girl always looks good. In my opinion away.

Yes that was an assumption I encountered, also charity shave or cancer.

Blue is one of the many colours I tried on my hair around that time.

I remember thinking, on the morning of the day Johnson announced in the afternoon that all shops were to be shut w.e.f. that evening, that "I MUST go to Dave's tomorrow for a proper cut & beard-trim."

Which is why last Thursday I went to one of the Argos branches inside a Sainsbury's to buy what must have been almost the last beard trimmer in the store. At least, I won't worry about looking like Father Christmas any more!
