Author Topic: Calling prossies ladies  (Read 3562 times)

Is it just me or is this a pretty fluffy, and irritating, statement? "I've browsed these ladies on adultwork" or, "I called the lady in question and then went and fucked her arse and had her swallow my cum".

I appreciate the OED's definition of a 'lady' is pretty all encompassing, but for me a lady would not sell her holes.

Perhaps it is just me, as I am, of course, a gentleman

All just words to me, I use prossy, wg, escort, girl, whore anything really. Doesn't bother me in all honesty.

Can't say I use the word lady, conjures up images of syphilis ridden ladies of the night from Victorian London. And the two ladies out of Little Britain. Neither that appealing really.

I tend to use the terms WG, prossie and girls, pretty interchangeably and without much thought. Not lady or courtesan either.

I thik prossy sounds disrespectful and I don't see why we should be disrespectful.

Well, the way I see it they aren't doing anything wrong Most of us work in some way, selling out brains or bodies so what's the difference. Actually it's almost the very definition of lady, and especially courtesan as per Camilla PBs granny.

Personally I go with WGs or girls. Don't really like ladies anyway - it's like they were a girl 15 years ago...

Your choice Abdul,  no right or wrong way with this one. You can say what you like if you prefer Lady then who am I to disagree.  :hi:

Posters should be free to call them whatever we like without having to think "Oooo am I going to be considered fluffy if I write this..."

Quite right Lex it is the contents and context that count not the use of a single word.

True, but what about somebody calling a prossie a courtesan?

Then they should be shot instantaneous without trial :D

I don't think anyone would really use that phrase unless they are taking the poss or trolling.  Even ladies seem embarrassed about that, we'll most anyway.

Parties are currently the mainstay of my punting and the last thing I say before leaving is usually "Thank you ladies." So if the L word slips out now and then I'm not saying anything I would not say to their faces ...  ;)

Good point.  I try not to be different on here than I am in person to the ladies ;) ) and I would never say "Thank you prossies" or "Thank you skanks".

fair enough - as long as the meeting took place in a castle or palace and she's shagged Royalty in the past. Prob not a lot of girls on northern housing estates have though.

The very idea is a contradiction.  :hi:

I don't really understand why this is a problem. If you want to call them ladies, why not. Different words have different meanings for different people.

"Skank" to me means something you do to Ska music.

Personally, I think the word 'whore' should be rehabilitated as in "drinking and whoring". It's a fine word with a long history, originally coming from Norse, way before the Victorians messed up our sexual morality. It saddens me when Old English words fall out of favour, they are often so much more direct than their modern counterparts.

I always call them ladies. They are over 18 so older than girls. I believe that feminists call them women.

I associate prossies as street walkers, its actually never crossed to call someone that sells themself on the internet a prostitute, most of the ladys I've seen I doubt would walk the streets, they are just smart people earning a large crust

Ladies, prossies, prostitutes, hookers, floozies, it is all the same to me.  Its just another word.  Outside of work I would probably be classed as a Lady as am well spoken, polite, carry myself well and demurely and never dress in a way that would flash anything.  I am sure many are just the same.  However in work Lady is not a term I would use at all unless specifically asked for.  When working I am all of the names I put before hand except for Lady as there is nothing ladylike about shagging strangers for cash

A good principle in my opinion.  ;)

As long as you don't get confused and call ladies prossies!  :D

I remember many years ago I used to work with an ardent feminist member of the Socialist Workers Party. She used to come to work with the close cropped hair and the dungarees, she was almost a cliché.  I eventually ended up working with her on a local union committee, and as I got to know her better she was actually alright. However early on I walked in one morning and said 'Morning ladies.' She responded, 'We are women!'

As time went on I used to wind her up. We were only in our twenties at the time, and I didn't bother about political correctness back then. Now you'd probably lose your job.

It was when the Tories had brought the clause 28 business in about not allowing schools and councils to promote homosexuality (how times have changed ).
We had a workplace meeting to gauge the memberships appetite for fighting the legislation. Most of the rank and file members were horrified about homosexuality and said they didn't want their kids indoctrinated in school. Cheryl, as she was called, lost it big time in her speech because the audience wouldn't support the motion, and screamed at the audience, 'I know that you all think I am, but I'm not a bloody lesbian!'
At least we learnt something from the meeting.  :D

Couldn't agree more , there's no need for name calling or a lack of respect for someone that you intend to be intimate with.
Each to their own though :hi:

I don't think it's fluffy at all to call a WG a lady  because they are female and an adult female is called a lady or a woman

You are of course right each to there own but a word is a word, the person behind it makes it disrespectful or not.

A punter calling a prossie a courtesan - deluded, A prossie calling herself a courtesan - automatically 500 quid more and out of my price bracket. Makes me think of the prossies offering the whole weekend on a clients yacht somewhere in the med for 10 grand.

+1 on this
WG is a handy short term of reference.  As a courtesan then its +quite a lot.  And maybe dubious service - like they're doing you a favour.  Or charging a fuck-load of cash

If you add the letter A between W & G then you get WAG
And then its serious money - even if you're earning 150k a week
WG....WAG....WG....WAG....WG....WAG - what's the difference ?
The seriously expensive divorce getting caught by your WAG when you're with a WG ?
Or maybe no divorce as they need the fame that comes along with the package - 'come in' the tall footy player !
