Tbh, the quality of service both here and there has gone downhill a bit. When I first went to Thailand, you could have a girl stay all night for 1500 baht and she would still be around for much of the next day if you wanted her to be. It seems like some punters on here still have them clinging on for dear life ( and those punters are probably the ones who want to get shot of the girl ASAP ) but I rarely get this now. Usually you have to negotiate to get anything in the 2000-3000 baht range and then they usually have some reason they have to go after a couple of hours - my flatmate is locked out being the usual favourite.
It is still a lot cheaper than punting here, but given that you have spent a lot of time, money, and effort to get there, that is the payoff you are hoping for. I get that it is good for them that they can now get paid more for their time for doing something they would probably rather not be doing but at the same time it makes it less of an incentive for me to want to go there.
With respect to here, there have been some really great girls over the years. Yes, you are paying a lot more because they are working in the UK. My first real Thai experience was with a girl in Sheffield years ago and she made the whole experience about me from start to finish. For that hour, I was the centre of the universe and she did a great job of making me forget the whole thing was a contrived transaction. Natalie in Birmingham nearly ten years ago was damn near perfect. Candy, more recently, who also worked a lot in Birmingham, was also an absolutely brilliant.
The trouble is, these days they very often use inaccessible venues which rules me out and there have been one or two who haven't been so great as well. There also seem to be a lot more fake profiles which never respond when you call.
So, overall I would say that whilst previously the word 'Thai' was almost a byword for top quality in the punting world, this has wavered a little, both here and abroad, in recent years.
