I had a semi-regular once and at about Christmas time , I noticed a present on the bed side table which she had obviously received from another punter (packaging open etc).  I looked at the parcel and thought to myself what a silly bugger for buying her the pressie.  As someone else suggested, if I had a regular I might pass on an unwanted present but anything other that would, imo constitute EAS.

That reminds me that I mentioned on, I think, last year's equivalent of this thread, that my last Regular - who's teetotal - used to pass on to me - who isn't! - a bottle of Red wine given to her by a client even fluffier than me!

You are paying incredibly large amounts of money to spend time with people who if you weren't paying wouldn't even spit on you if you are on fire.

The only thing that makes them put up with you and give you a good time, is the fact you are paying them those very large sums of money.

If you start acting like you are friends and buying them gifts. You run the very large risk of the girl thinking even with the large sum of money, she wants out of this.

Good advice .... but few master your one liner skills. Perhaps you should have charged him and then, rather like an expensive Christmas gift, it may have held more value?

I think a small gift at xmas is nice.  I don't think it has anything to do with EAS.  In businesses it is fairly common to be given a bottle of wine, etc by suppliers as a thank you for your custom.  Just a extra little thanks for giving good service throughout the year like you give the paperboy/girl, bin men, etc. tips at xmas.  It doesn't cost a lot for a bottle of wine, flowers or bath stuff.

It would be nice if SPs gave gifts to their regulars but not heard of any do it.

Well in my admittedly abbreviated punting I am truly amazed how the girls can disassociate themselves from what they are doing so to give them a gift is somewhat foolish.
However just as it's easy to spot fake affection it's also easy to spot when it isn't,bit too much cynicism from some people.
