I think that I am going to try to avoid any further punts.

I no longer find it gratifying.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether doing this could become unhealthily addictive?

I feel like your post contradicts itself.
You don't find it gratifying but yet you are going to "try to stop".

I only do this because I make sure that's the gems I see, pleasure me beyond belief and that it is gratifying.

Whom have you seen, Ray?
It would be helpful if you review them so that no other punters are disappointed/ waste their money.

Why bother posting then. Simply stop punting, at the end of the day nobody here cares.

Nah, it's great, as you'd find out if you actually punted.

Poor you. Although it's all about you, you, you isn't it? Self-pity, loathing, whatever.
Use the search button and see what has discussed in the past. You should be used to doing that.

Given what this site provides as a resource and asks in return you've proven yourself selfish and incompetent, good luck giving up but your best bet will be to give your missus/kids control of the purse strings.
