In the case of a mortgage, simply put - a large loan secured against the borrower's property (yes the borrower's and not the bank's or lender's since their name is not on the property title deed) the bank do not have a debt nor is their risker higher.  Are you trying to say that the bank has a higher risk than the person who could be made homeless?

As for another crash, doubtful since the government and tax-payer mugs like myself and millions of others would mostly likely be called upon to bail the fuckers out again.

I think he is referring to interest only mortgages where there have been a couple articles over the years questioning whether the people that have initially taken the mortgage will be able to pay off the principal when due, but for some reason it has not made mainstream news.
