Tinder is primarily for hookups/dating, and very much looks based. So, if you're not a toned Adonis out of Love Island I wouldn't bother.

With these swipe dating sites, and certainly Tinder, there are so many profiles that people make an instant decision. Therefore, you have to be good looking and relatively young. Hardly anyone bothers to read a profile to see if they think you've got a "nice personality" even though they don't instantly fancy you.
Even if you do get a match, chances are they won't reply to a message or at least not 2; it's easy for them to get distracted by better looking and younger guys.
The numbers are not in our favour as there are more guys actively seeking girls, plus are willing to chase ugly birds, so you effectively have most male members chasing a small proportion of girls.
A lot of girls aren't actually active on Tinder; they just 'park' profiles on there and direct you to their Insta account, either because they prefer that method of contact (in which case you're probably still competing with lots of others) or they just want followers and have no real interest in hooking up with random guys.
Even if the good looking chaps don't go ahead with meeting less attractive birds, the damage is done because they have distracted them and closed the opportunity for other guys.
I gave Tinder a real go: spent many hundreds of hours over 2/3 months, checking out thousands of profiles and swiping right on most of them, and got nowhere. Got 3 numbers - all wannabe SBs who wanted an allowance; 2 were timewasters and I didn't fancy the other one so binned her.
SA is reliable and actually involves less time spent.
