Can't comment on WYP, but as to why SA isn't really suitable for traditional dating:
On SA:
1. the woman you are seeing is likely accepting money to sleep with other men;
2. the likelihood that you even know their real name is the lowest of any platform (in my experience);
3. vast majority of women are not looking for traditional dating, so you will waste a huge amount of time and money on subscription fees before finding even one person. At which point, for reasons 1 and 2 above, it will be more difficult establishing trust than on any other platform.
If you want non-paid romantic encounters with women, SA isn't set up for that. The fact people occasionally get away with a shag without paying a fee doesn't change this. One of the commonest complaints I hear from SBs is guys "not understanding" what an arrangement is and essentially wanting a gf.
None of this means that Tinder is "easy" for everyone, but there is also Bumble, Badoo etc etc with literally millions of women on them who don't ask to be paid (compared to the thousands on SA, who mostly do). All of the aforementioned are a better time investment for a person looking for normal dating.
No matter how many millions of women are there in these dating apps, it is hard for some men in all these apps especially if you are looking to punch above your weight(read looking for women out of your league).
I am not looking for traditional dating on SA. But I can very well understand why some men would like to do that. But before that, traditional dating could mean two different things.
It could be just meeting regularly on platonic dates without any expectations on sex. For example, some men in their 40s who would just like the company of younger women while going out would be attracted to the idea. Of course, I am talking about rich men here. They won't have much success getting dates with good looking younger women on vanilla dating apps. With SA, they will reach an arrangement with monthly allowance and regular meets at parties, theaters or even travel. Many of these men just want a way out of their loneliness.
Then there is really traditional dating with a long term relationship in mind. I agree with you that SA isn't designed specifically for that. But it does support it. Men and women can add "Marriage-Minded" as an interest in their list.
If you search for women who have mentioned they are "Marriage-minded" the number of profiles which have that is very less. But you can see understand what they are looking for. They like to be in a traditional married relationship. But they want to do that with someone who is rich so that they can spend the rest of their life in luxury. It's hard for these women to mention it openly in traditional apps without receiving judgemental comments on being a gold digger. They can openly say so in Seeking and also have a better chance of meeting men matching their needs on Seeking. This works for the rich men who want good looking women even if they are attracted to the money in the first place.
The above possibly answers points 1 and 3 you raised. Point 2 is not common all around. I have had 3 regular SBs so far and 3 I have just met once. All my regular SBs eventually opened up about their real names after 3/4 meets. They know mine too. I agree it's risky. But it does happen.
