Are you strictly using hotels? I’ve been using self check-in airbnb spots around central, most are quite well equipped for a decent price. I’ve got no experience in booking the hotels that are listed on there, which has a “security guard” for entry than the receptionist.

Quoting a price structure like that takes her out of the semi pro category and very makes her a pro IMHO

Not particularly, I'd be open to that option also. Its just that I'm more used to hotels pre-lockdown I suppose.

Are the facilities/amenities comparable to say a 4* spot though, since you mention they're well equipped?

Disagree, it's extremely rare that you'd find an outright pro to offer the value she does for longer bookings (New_Melania's the only one I can think of actually) plus there's that wanting to see an STD test result beforehand as well FWIW

That said, I can see where you're coming from so I understand the sentiment nonetheless.

I’ve only really taken a dive at 5* using dayuse. In terms of amnesties, this place I stay near covent garden is a 1 bedroom studio with a separate kitchen. Decent Smart TV hooked up with all the streaming platforms (residential account), quite a mediocre dining surface but it does the job, has a couch in front of the king bed. Showers include towels and other toiletries you’d expect and stuff like hairdryer if needed. The interior design is quite nice but thats dependant on the place, most places has pictures to accommodate, and there is a list of the itinerary or what’s available.

For me with my SB, we cook at the location so the kitchen comes in quite handy. Only thing that may startle is that if she is a screamer then maybe the walls might be thin? You may get a complaint from other locals reporting what you do at the premises which can be tracked since it’s booked via airbnb.

Hard question to answer, all depends on the place you’re getting. The usual one I book seems well suited and feels quite homey cause of the setup, its nothing like a hotel. Pictures of the kitchen and bathroom is a good indicator, stuff like a modern design or radiator/towel rack or just a good shower head 😂. As long it isn’t a council block you’ll end up finding some of the flats have pretty high ceilings. Otherwise, it’ll just look like the premises is just a normal studioflat/apartment.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of locke or collective but they can classify as if you’ve bought a new build flat.

Couple of things.

I stayed last week at the large corporate hotel beginning with "M" that has Regents Park in the title (not sure about naming it here) for 2 nights. No questions at all on check in, hotel was very quiet. Its got room service but everything else is shut. Google it and see for yourself, quite reasonable rates presently and rooms are what you would expect at this level. If your "date" arrives after you they can walk straight to the lift and up to your room, mine did with zero issues.

I've also used some London apartments recently, not from Airbnb.
If you Google search "Bayswater/Paddington serviced apartments" then lots come up although I stayed in Bloomsbury for a few days and South Ken. Try Plumb guide (normally OTT pricing but presently some value) and Sonder. All offered lock box check in, one asked reason for travel (work I said, never asked any more) and both sites offer very good quality with some good rates presently.
Consider the area as well. Bayswater and Paddington or Victoria carry a lot of cheap tat targeting the lower end of the market. You have the obvious like South Ken, Knightsbridge and Mayfair but these tend to be a bit toppy price wise. I find value and quality in Bloomsbury around the museum and also Fitzrovia.

It's perhaps worth reminding members that while it's still essential purposes for hotels until May 17, you can now rent out self-contained accommodation for leisure purposes (as of April 12). Choosing one with self checkin lock box obviously makes it easier all round.
