I never thought of it like that. I'd like to think she was approaching random blokes. Ignorance, as they say, is bliss....

When I lived in Manchester there were two main RLD's. In and around Piccadilly station and Cheetham Hill, both too be avoided if you had any sense. I should imagine there is still some action to be had but Manchester has so many parlours and escorts, why take the risk on a dodgy street punt.

Whalley Range was pretty notorious as a red light area a few years ago I seem to recall. I think the police pretty much turned a blind eye to it there in those days with just the odd clampdown now and again.

About 25 years ago, I commuted to Manchester from Burnley on the X43 and would often start the return journey from the old Chorlton Street bus station.

At the time, the area was renowned for working girls approaching the unwary, as I was the first time, offering cheap blow jobs and knee tremblers. Definitely red light areas in Manchester, streets behind Piccadilly as others have mentioned, as well the streets from Strange ways prison up to Cheetham Hill - roads coming off Sherborne Street.
