This might not apply to you, but if your business trip involves the need for some kind of accommodation (a room to hold meetings in?) you could book a hotel day room and, in so doing, leave your valuables in the hotel safe, your case/bag in the room, and pop out for a quick punt.

Funny how everyone differs. When I don't have a bag on me (most times) I actually place all my valuables on the dressing/side table in plain sight, that way when I'm done and dressed I can make sure I don't leave these behind, I'd hate my things to fall out my pockets unnoticed especially with loose clothing and dimly lit room.
