First Class does not have a sauna, just a reception room and then off to either of two rooms with your chosen girl.
I remember when they
were putting a sauna in downstairs - for a brief period they took over the ground floor (back when Queenie was running the place) in the mind 1990s although I don't think they ever actually opened the downstairs.
People would do well to remember that back in the 80s all of these places were known as 'saunas' or 'sauna and massage' (Athena Sauna on Wolstenholme Road, Caesars Sauna on Corporation Street, Bird of Paradise sauna, Omega sauna, Ambassador... they all had saunas). First Class was the first place that actually had none of the extra facilities. It was the first place to openly offer the 'body to body' massage with none of the trimmings to the premises. First Class was more like the Soho Walk-Ups rather than the traditional sauna massage venue. There's a rich history to First Class - they invented the bargain basement punt with bells on. In some ways to be celebrated and in others condemned for starting what many might call the 'race to the bottom'.
