No offence and all that, but doesn't your partner have any bollocks (assuming it's a man) Just get him to tell the guy to FUCK OFF, stop answering his calls and messages and move on. Or send him on a wild goose chase meet then block him.
You're clearly a fucking drama queen who loves the attention, if you ignore him and had done from the outset you'd have no issues.
Bloody hell James .. have you had another stressful day manning the Victim Support Helpline?
Agree completely though that ignoring from an early stage is the key and will work in many cases similar to this, but it can sometimes take a very long time and a fair degree of self control not to retaliate, something many women in particular struggle with! Clearly Melody and others have got far too involved with him. Fabswingers etc. That’s all very easy for me to say however and this guy, in the early stages at least, is clearly friendly and helpful.
Disagree with the 'fuck off' option though because the minute you respond the stalker will thrive on the response. The only exception would be if you were able to
seriously scare them at the same time (without actual violence) but I doubt this guy is easily scared?
With regard to the Police my instinct would be that it's likely to be a lost cause. Reporting can be something of a lottery. The Police are swamped with social media harassment and select which cases they pursue. What Melody has (individually) been subjected to appears on the face of it actually quite low level and anything else she reports about others is hearsay or posted anonymously on the internet. They do not have the resources or time to track people down unless they rank it a serious case.
If you know the persons real life identity and location and you can provide sufficient evidence of reasonably serious harassment/stalking and you are lucky enough to report it to an individual Police Officer who, on the day, is sympathetic (and his immediate bosses allow him to spend time on it) it
may result in them visiting him and issue an official harassment warning (cannot remember what the term is?) which does carry some legal clout. However that warning would only apply to him contacting you again, so it may simply result in him leaving you alone, but he will just move on to someone else.
There may well be a much bigger case against this guy and I’m sure he will already be on file, but prosecution would require much more police resources and possibly even cooperation across multiple forces. Another unrealistic expectation maybe?
Frustrating I know but that’s the reality.
Finally I would be very surprised given this guy’s modus operandi, that he is not reading this? UKP and UKPE must surely be a must for him?
Given his obvious huge ego he may even be a prolific poster!!!
