General honesty is a no-no, same as when you get a BS excuse for a non happening, cancelled, delayed, 'something came up'  story for 'your confirmed booking cannot now take place'.
Being bumped for a better/  longer booking is one thing but the feebleness of the reasoning is a real let down.
