I personally prefer hotels to private houses.
No neighbours to worry about.
Little chance of hassle.
Lots of hot water for showers.
Typically you'll be given the room number once you have arrived, although you may want to check where the lift/stairs are before you call.
Door may be ajar as you approach the room as the lady will want to make you entry as unobtrusive as possible - not have you banging on the door
